Going to be a fun day. I have to run to HD and get some cut off wheels then set up my work table and figure out a way to secure the top panel down so I can cut into it. Yesterday, I dug into my old case and took 2 x 80mm fans (blue) out of it and 1 x 120mm fan (green). Not the color scheme I want right now, but I have $2700 going out to fund my microsoft certification training.

Didn't manage to get anything done this weekend. Plans tomorrow include going to Home Depot and getting some cutoff wheels for the Dremel, some window screen spline, some painters tape for masking while cutting, a new set of drill bits since Ive trashed all of mine. I'm going to cut the holes in the side of the case to make them slots instead of a bunch of holes. I think this will add some airflow. I'm also going to be tackling the airflow in the top of the case, most likely by cutting into it and putting some fans there. Might not be pretty, but I think it will do the job. I also want to pick up a hole saw if I have the funds to make the fan holes easier. I just pray my 18v screw gun is up for the task. I am also going to be cutting out the front of the bezel behind the mesh to get even more airflow in there. What I'm really considering is instead of adding mesh or an acrylic window, just completely cutting out the side of the case and adding some window screen for maximum airflow. Thoughts?

Window screen as in a large mesh 'window' in the side panel?

It would prob help get air in, but might cause the case to be louder as the fan's would be pretty much 'in the open' so it would be easier to hear them.

I don't think I will be able to hear the fans over my air conditioner.
