Wasn't able to get out and get the bondo today, had a friend come over for company and then it was too late to go out (Can't stand all the kids at the malls after school). Will have to make that trip tomorrow, though I will start on sanding the cage in the morning.

As for the finish, I understand a metal primer would be a necessity, but would I also need to put a finish coat on the flat black for the interior?

You don't have to. Just sand/scuff it before you prime it and spray a few good coats so you have enough paint on there to prevent flaking/peeling with wear and tear.

Sub'd, this looks real good so far!

Thanks repo, just doing some research quick before I go out and buy some more stuff.

It's not so much whether I have to or not, rather would the clearcoat ruin the finish of the flat black?

Oh, no not at all. You can buy a 'flat' clear coat that is not glossy, which will retain the flat black look and add another layer of protection. As I always say when clear coating spray paints though, spray a test panel first! Some paints will go haywire with clear on them depending on the dry time and brand.

Really though, I would forgo the clear on the inside IMO. I didnt clear the inside of Phoenix (my sig case) and it hasn't chipped/flaked at all. the best thing is really just sanding it well so the paint has something to stick to, a good coat of primer and a few good coats of paint.

Thanks repo. If I could rep ya.. heh.

Yeah I'm using the HDD casing as a test panel, as it's the same material and I won't be using it in the case anyways. Will be painting that today if I can get a good primer where I'm heading.
