It has been a while since I revisisted my first Lian Li worklog, Princess Lili. You can visit her here and here. Since all people evolve over time, I would like to have my maturity as an enthusiast be reflected in one of my first serious mods. As a reflection of me, I have decided to have Twilight Princes Lili evolve into Gaia, the Greek mythology figure of Mother Earth/Nature.
For this project that I am planning on a Mother Nature theme. The interior of the case will be powder coated metallic fluorescent green and the outside will remain black but will have an brush image of a beautiful naked goddess hugging a tree to cover her parts obviously, with her forest green hair wrapped around the case like vines (I'm thinking like the nymph from The Witcher). On the motherboard side's panel, there will be an airbrushed Earth with the vines around it. The interior will have liquid cooling with bright green water under UV lights as well as green UV sleeving to simulate interior vines. Components of PC Case: Lian Li G70-B with windowed side panel Mobo: Asus Maximus Formula CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 GPU: Sapphire HD4870X2 RAM: OCZ SLI Edition DDR2-800 4GB kit HDD: 2x Raptors (undecided about raid), 4x Seagate Barracuda ES 7200.10 750GB in raid5 Sound: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic PSU: Corsair HX1000 Cooling System CPU: XSPC Edge GPU: Danger Den FC-4870-X2 Pump: Swiftech MCP-655 Variable w/ Detroit Thermos custom D5 Top Radiator: HWLabs Black Ice GTX 480 Reservoir: EK 250 Fans: Scythe S-Flex E Table of Contents Update 10/23: Some airbrushing Update 10/25: Mounting fans on radiator Update 11/13: Case back from airbrushing Update 11/22: Panels back from clear coating and possible addition of a radbox Update 12/17: Case back from powder coating Update 12/18: Almost final pics of case itself Update 12/23: Working a bit more on the case Update 01/27: 95% done with entire work log

wow, I was expecting this to be some kind of low-power-consuming project, since it has "green" in the title and all.
kind of awkward having a mother nature theme to a beefy computer that uses lots of power, but oh well, "going green" isn't really going to change much anyway ![]() Subscribed. I can't wait to see how your airbrushing comes out. and HOLY CRAP another person with an invader zim avatar, YAY, rep to him! (and to op too for a really cool idea)

if your mobo dies for whatever reason, you'll find yourself buying a new PSU along with a new motherboard. ![]() sorry....but that honestly has got to be one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard.

Sounds like you have an awesome idea with the case, can't wait to see it start taking shape. Are you doing the airbrushing yourself?
As for soldering the cables to the mobo, don't, as said before, you'll hate yourself when upgrade time comes round again!
