Or an X like the original X-box. But a circle was also my first thought

Hmmmm... a circle. I wonder how I can do a circle large enough on that and on the acrylic. Might be a bit too far for my experience, a very good idea none the less.

Unfortunately no. But where my dad worked it "might" be possible with water jet. I'll see what I can do.

All you need to make a circle with a dremel is one of these -
http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Attachme...spx?pid=678-01

Video here -
http://www.expotv.com/Dremel-678-01-...ight-Ed/2a-Yx6

Basically you just put the centre spigot into a hole you have drilled for the middle of the circle, and then slowly move the dremel round in a circle.

Hmmm...

I declare that the dremel is teh epic tool

I KNEW I did well in spending €50 more on the 400/80 instead of the 300 series. The 400 digital I got has that tool bundled, as well the rotary cutting bit. I'm saved

Thanks coffee

ask Syrillian about cutting circles in acrylic with that dremel attachment, there is an issue when you come right to the end of the circle where your guide (which is in the center of the piece being removed) breaks free, and you have to free hand the very last bit. Syr can explain better.

If there is a way for the pin to reach thru the acrylic into a piece of stationary wood below then even when the acrylic part comes free, the guide will remain stationary - just a thought

Ill probably be trying these various things in my next build

EDIT: he shows it here too
