Hello fellow OCNers

It's time for another update

Day13 - I love "sand"...


...ahem, anyway as you can see on the following picture, the back of the top cover is not straight, I have to straighten it out so I can place the acrylic.

Before...


I used the dremels sanding barrel to cut that stuff out.


Half way done, sanded the left side.


Second half, cut and sanded down.


View from the top. It's still not completely done, but I didn't have any more time to finish sanding the cover completely. See that bump on the middle? That'll be a problem, for some reason the O on the XBOX 360 is not part of the case itself, it's a seperate piece...

Holiday time makes it harder to have time to mod, but It's almost done

So that circle area is a recess on the top side? I guess push-some-to-shove, you could just use a small holesaw and cut a circle out of the acrylic there, so it will sit flush around it. That might be less headache than trying to sand that recess down and risk going through the plastic.


Dude, a friend of mine is giving me his RROD'd 360. I'm going to send it back and get it repaired and totally do something like this when I get it back! I'm so excited!

If I turn the cover around, I can pop the O out, and that bump is where it'll fit, I have to leave it there, else if I sand it down -as you said- it'll go through and the O will fall from the other side. To keep it simple, I guess I'll have to cut the acrylic. It just bothers me, it is beyond my imagination why they did it this way.

I would imagine the 'O' covers the moulding blemish (where the plastic is injected from) - so they made it recessed and covered it up with the 'O' - bit of a bummer for you though.

Quick question though, one of the NB blocks is low profile and you used it on your NB... I've never had any experience with the atom but does the NB actually get hotter then the CPU?
