I don't know. It's hard to predict an estimated time to complete... So little time, and sometimes so many setbacks. Loosing a day in the weekend immediately doubles the time I take...

Hopefully next vacations will give a decent boost... I hope.

Alright, an update!

Day 16 - Top Panel part 3

Well, today I mostly worked on the top panel and placed more epoxy on the fan holes. I went ahead and began cutting the excess acrylic I had around the top panel cut.

Cutting the Acrylic was divided into 2 phases.

Phase one, preparing the acrylic to be marked for cut.


The acrylic ready to be cut.


One down.


Two down.


Three down!


Placed under the panel, flawless (almost) fit, moving now to phase two, which is to make it fit and file the edges.


Now, placed on top ready to be marked.


Phase two: And.... done. Marked those two corners.


Both cut!


Once again, in place, after being cut.


It'll roughly look like this


Here I marked where the M4 Hex screws will be placed to hold the acrylic. I still am going to round out those corners on the top right.


In the process the epoxy is now solid enough, next time I will cover the 3rd fan hole and drill the holes for the hex screws.

Not bad at all chief... I am curious why you did not decide to put the window panes flush with the case. That is, why not cut the acrylic pieces small enough that they fit inside the holes and then somehow mount them flushly. Looks good this way, but might have been even better the other way.

Well, I did think of that, but I'm not skilled enough and I don't have the tools necessary to cut the acrylic pieces the same size as the window so this is the best I can do, and tbh I got alot better managing acrylic since the beginning of this project . I also did this to hand out a different aspect using the M4 hex screws . And, theorically, UV light does its effect better on the green acrylic when it hits the sides of it than from the "top" if you know what I mean
