What a great idea! All I need is really a piece of plastic, after being epoxy'd to the case it'll be painted over. Thanks Repo e-cookie for you

Hai guys!

Sorry for my absence the past... 2 months!!? (wow...) I've had some stuff to deal with, including vacations and all, that's why I've not been around.

The Ninebreaker is not dead though! I promise to continue it ASAP. (This time is for real )

Although some updates have been rolling through my mind... I found out that the Atom 230 simply cannot playback 720p... I've just found it this weekend, so I'm thinking thoroughly about another mini-ITX setup. But I have a minor setback; the AC-DC adapter + DC-DC converter... 80W...

I've looked into one of those nice ZOTAC IONs (Atom 330) but they're quite expensive and lack an IDE connector (My DVD-RW is IDE) but it has 3 SATA and one E-SATA and very low power with great HD playback capabilities, or a Jetway JNC62k (nForce 8200 chipset) (AMD) which has 4 SATA (woot raid!) and an IDE channel, but the setback is that it consumes quite a bit more even with a 45w CPU like an LE-1640B or LE-1660. I've looked into some reviews and they say it can hit around 85W under load with ORTHOS and about 70W (give or take a few) during Blu-Ray playback.

EDIT: About folding, summer temps have been pushing me back from it... Especially on the northbridge. I had to ghetto mod a couple of 60mm fans on the NB to keep it cooler (and it worked great! 58C under load vs the 70s) The GPUs heat up my room too much, which is already hot...

Glad to be back

I am an AMD fanboy. That said, for your application, I suggest trying to get ahold of the Atom 330.

Thanks for the suggestion. To be honest I was being drawn to that mobo, especially when I consider quite alot the power consumption. After some investigation, I did find out that there are Slim IDE Optical drives to SATA coverters (I thought it was only possible IDE to IDE), so that will spare me the costs of a slim SATA DVD-RW.

Yeah, I've looked into Atom 330 + Intel chipset as well, they are cheap solutions and can playback 720p H.264 and I really have considered into getting one, but reviews stated that it can consume like 50W of power under load, ridiculous how the Atom 330 has an 8w TDP and the 945GC is around 25W....
The Atom 330 and the ION chipset will only consume 21w on idle and 29w on full load, for now I only have a 720p HDTV, there's always the possibility of getting a 1080p in the future, and the Atom 330 alone can't handle it

My own policy is when buying... I can?... Go overkill.

On a side note, I'm even going to exchange my current 320GB Seagate 7200.10 for a couple WD's Green 500GB.

Thanks for your suggestions guys.
