these won't work because it's not the ultrabay 2000 standard plug, it's the newer atapi plug. the old one looks like this.

coffeejunky, i thought about that but low-profile cards in PCI form wind up being REALLY close to not fitting, and there's a chance that it won't at all. it's like a centimeter too long =( i might wind up hacking up the header to get it to fit, but i don't really want to, you know?

I have been contemplating on doing this for a month or two. The PSU was my only issue.

Subscribed.

$500 will be PLENTY haha

You could very well split it 1:1 and go $250 hardware/$250 everything else.

Looking forward to your build log

i ordered the mainboard, 120w psu, power cord, splitter, p4 connector, hard drive, full-size dvd-rom drive (i want it to be the same as the xbox), and 2gb ram stick yesterday. still deciding on the graphics card - if i went with it i'd get a seperate 120w psu to power just that and nothing else. one isn't enough, and all the other larger ones i found are too big for the case without really modding them out, and i'm not comfortable with electrical stuff enough to do that.

it'd take two plugs, but it's not that bad =)

Modding the original xbox to fit in computer hardware seems easier than working with the xbox 360. I never really compared the size but seems that the xbox is larger than the 360. I'm killing myself trying to find a workaround to my issue on my project due to the RAM module being too tall not letting me fit in my slim DVD-RW properly.

EDIT: I've taken a look at Higgins' mod and it is by far the hardest one, NineBreaker was originally to be a PS2 case as well, but its tight space made me go for a x360 case instead.

Good luck with your mod Looking forward to seeing it done.

There should be a group for people that create or mod cases for their mITX motherboards. /hint

Do you have a worklog link? Love to take a look at it.

I could create a group, I think we started a movement
