No worries, Replacement parts due tomorrow...but thats a different story. Lets start at the beginning....

22.09.08 - 29.09.08 Case 1 arrives and leaves and case 2 arrives to stay

I ordered the Akasa Infiniti case from Lambdatek it arrive on time having missed the first attempted delivery, my bad, anyway I rush home to be greeted by my wonderful-gleaming-brand-new-waiting-to-be-modded-case and I open it to find this...

Not a good sign

And the feet don't stay still...that's ok, I can mod that...

This foot doesn't even sit straight...In fact they all didn't...

Oh yay! Dents

And a crack....This only gives you a clue with the type of plastic they've used...and having played with my replacement (yes I did replace) more plastic parts have broken...this isn't going too well and it's only just begun...

In between waiting for my replacement to be shipped and having nothing else to do but wait by the door for all my wonderful packages and this arrived:

-10 nexus 120mm fans
- 4 cheapo fans (I've already carved out the inards in a ritualistic ceremony to the fan gods)
- pa 120.2 thermochill radiator
- 10 foot of masterkleer 7/16th I.D
- some barbs
- clips
- t-line
- fillport (not pictured)
- hex mesh (not pictured)
- feaser 1
- cable sleeving
- 2 x paxmate
- akasa cable tidy velcro stuff

Still to come (and yes I am still waiting for it today the 7th of october over a month since i received everything else)
- d-tek fuzion v2
- swiftech mcp655 pump (tho by the time this arrives it might not fit...ah well!)

Anyway, I got my replacement and I'm greeted with more suprises!
MOARH box dent-age

MOARH wonky feet

MOARH broken plastics...this ones a little more serious because as i lefted the case out of the box..the whole front panel fell off

and MOARH dented panels YAY

So I've got onto the guys at Akasa as soon as the first case I recieved was damaged, I told them to use better plastic and make sure the whole front panel was of alu construction...ANYWAY, Jerry, my wonderful technical support guy has promised my new drive rails, new side panels, a new front panel and some complimentary cathodes for free! Now that is brilliant service. The parts are due tomorrow hopefully and they should replace everything i've found wrong with this case. That is where I am at atm ladys and gents now if you dont mind...i'd very much like to go to bed now

06.10.08 - 07.10.08 Renders

I do have one last update...I have been slaving away and battling with googles ketchup sketchup (aggrivating at times but I'm getting there)...and we have the first accurate diagram...still some last bits to think about and change...ignore the text I highly doubt that will get done unless they can laser cut that, it would look good backlit I reckon. There will be a layer of paxmate and all the joining parts just to reduce vibrations. There are yet to be fan holes marked and I will have to figure out a means of fixing the fan and mesh while still looking minimal...

Well im sticking with this second case because the parts that were damaged were replaceable by the manufacturer...plus they were kind enough to listen to my advice the first time around and have order fresh parts made of more durable plastic. And they've just payed for all my lighting so im happy :P

07.10.08 Case replacement parts arrive

Another day and yet another package! This time we have the replacement parts Akasa promised me. Here we have a new front panel:

New side panel (not only one...i did ask for 2 :S ah well)

New drive rails

and some cathodes...because EVERY gamer knows the more lights you have the faster it goes! oh and a sheet of paxmate...i think that was jerrys way of telling me he won't give me another side panel. Ah well.

night shots:

Now my current psu spazzed out as i flipped the last switch of the cathodes and promptly retired from what it thought was a hard earnt rest...i just flicked it on and powered her up again. That worried me slightly tho, what can i do to make these basic switches less harsh on my psu? Iknow it's not this one going in the rig but i'd like to know that each time i flick a switch on my new rig that im not stressing hte psu...catch my drift?

07.10.08 The idea!

I had fun measureing up today...NOT. Had to prop up the rad with all sorts of things, currently the twelve monkeys dvd and very long screw driver is doing a very good job of holding it together for me Here are some shots to give the jist, I also have eyed up the back hose holes for a fill port...or 2! If i get a second loop i can have both fill ports based there in a very lazy and snazzy way because the holes are already done.

Obviously there will be fans here but i've used those hollowed out fans to provide me with a shroud...and they can be knocked about during measuring etc.
