1. Some initial work on the chassis. 2. Sketch of the mounting bracket to fab up. 3. Prettied up the sunbeam rheobus. 4. Hanger assembly finished 5. Bending Cutting the mobo. 6. Some paint. It should get redone when the weather gets better. 7. Cutting the panel 8. Wheels 9. My first ghetto mod? 10. (unused) fillport 11. cheapo shrouds 12. Craft-store gaskets. 13. rad installed 14. Last updates! The plan: So I've finally got around to modding my Rocketfish case. I'm upgrading from my trusty Centurion5. This will likely be a slow build! So here's the plan: Watercool my e6750 with an Apogee GTX Copper top, through a HWLabs Black Ice Extreme GTX 360 Rad, pumped by an MCP 655 through 1/2 ID tubing and a Swiftech Microres. My first issue was how to mount my rad internally. The BIX-gtx is quite thick and even with 25mm fans (push/pull), it will not fit under the case's roof. The rad with 38 mm fans and shrouds is a grand total width of (54 + (38 * 4)) * mm = 8.11023622 inches (thanks google calc) and should fit within the width of the case. I should be able to fit it behind the optical drive cage and the mobo tray. I'll have to cut about 3 inches from the mobo tray. This would still leave > 9.6 inches of the tray and it will still be ATX compatible (no skulltrail for this fish). I'm going to (try) mount rails or a plate cut out for the BIX vertically from top to the false floor. I've got a horrible sketchup shot of what I mean. http://www.overclock.net/attachment....1&d=1224091425 After placement of the rad, I still need to workout res, pump and hdd cage placement. I also might be able to optionally add another rad or whole loop on a PA160.1 mounted in the front bottom of the case. HDD cage will either stay where they are, or move inside the 5-1/4 drive rack. The pump will either be placed on the floor or in the 5-1/2 drive rack. The res will go wherever it looks good. ...More to come after payday and I get my hands on some aluminum sheeting.

Nope it's my rad with 6 120x38mm and 6 120x38mm shrouds.
I can't afford 12 fans ![]() I actually have 25mm Yate loons to throw on it, but they might not do. I'm going to give those a go before I opt in for some Scythe Ultra Kaze's. Oh yeah, I've got a 4-channel sunbeam rheobus to control the fans.

ok because I was gonna say it was a bit overkill, and probably less efficient than 6 (3x2 push pull)

Ok, a wee bit of work done in between getting home and dinner.
I made some holes to mount the casters, but the ones in the rear are too close to the mobo tray. I'll realign them at another time or find different mounting hardware. I likely find better looking hardware as those bolts aren't pretty. ![]() Some of the holes were ugly. ![]() I drilled the holes in the front of the case to gain access to the 5-1/4 shelves for later removal. ![]() I also de-riveted the mobo tray so that I can cut it down a bit.

I need help deciding on interior paint color. I was thinking painting the interior white. 1) not many people go white, 2) I already have like 5 cans of it, 3) I think it *might* look good against the black exterior.

Hi, Toast.
![]() I've seen a number of mods that include white interiors, and I think that they look great. The white background shows off the hardware much better than black as the the hardware stands out more.
