I just picked up a sheet of Acrylic yesterday but I need to know what the possible ways of attaching in to the side panel.

I would like to make it so that it sits flash with the panel but I'm not sure what to use. And hopefully I don't have to order whatever I need lol. I picked up the sheet at Home Depot and I think it is 1/8 thick but I'm not sure. Any suggestion would be great.

well there is H shaped channel that you could use, but you can get a clean flush look by mounting it on the inside of the panel and use some thin low profile channel around the cut out. The channel Bill stocks at mnpctech.com is perfect for that. You can find other shapes of channel at mcmaster.com

So I take it you don't want to bolt it to the side cover like the original window. Do you want to be able to remove it in the event it should get damaged some how ie scratches cracks etc?

One solution is clear silicone caulking, but that can be kind of messy as any liquid form of adhesive can be. Another solution is double sided adheasive tape. Less messy but it wont lay down as flat as say a pressed glue and sometimes heat will cause the tape to un-apply itself. The upside to the tape is controll of where you want it and don't want it. I like the silicone idea but I have not figured out how to keep it from spreading beyond the side panel edges and mucking up the window. I liked the way CattleRustler has this window on [Project] Gumdrop check it out. http://www.mod2software.com/mod2modding.htm

Then you always have the option of using the original hardware " original nuts & bolts " removed from the side cover. You can place the new piece of plastic on the inside after you cut the new hole on the side cover. Hm just had an idea. how about a hinged window.??? That's a hole other ball of wax. Hope this helps with some idea's. My idea's are probably not the best solution but in any case take your time and brainstorm as much as possible till you are comfortable with the choice you make. Hope this helps.

Ya that does help. It kind of got my brain kick started . I was thinking of the tape when I started thinking on how to apply the new window but I want it as flush as I can get it to make it look good.
