I'm making me one of these at the weekend for a 3-pin mobo. Will hopefully have some pics up when I do.
I plan on using a slidey switch.

Now why did I not think of this first? Great idea by the way. Takes some of the frustration element out of overclocking. I like the slide switch idea. I think I'll try to find some like the one's used in power supplies. + Rep

Certainly is,,, beats having to yank of the side cover and try to get ya fingers in there to put a jumper on the reset CMOS pins, and on some boards is hard to access with GPU in the way

ya it's better then the idea I was pondering over. I wanted to make a dip switch that plug'd right onto the 3 mobo clear cmos pins but that requirs opening the case and why do that if you could just power down flip the switch left/up and right/down and power back on load saved bios bamb back in buis....

Right. I have just made one. Although unfortunately my camera wasn't charged and I couldn't be arsed to wait. Will have to get pics later.
Basically, if you have a 3-pin CMOS pin layout all you need is one dead fan or fan extension cable and a switch that keeps pins 1 and 2 on and then when activated keeps pins 2 and 3 on. I used a slider switch.
The fan header is a perfect fit. All you need to do is cut the appropriate length of the fan cable (keeping the 3-pin plug intact) then solder the middle wire to the middle contact on the switch. Then solder the remaining two wires to the other two contacts on the switch.
Now all you neeed to do is plug it in and it should work perfectly.
