Basically, if you have a 3-pin CMOS pin layout all you need is one dead fan or fan extension cable and a switch that keeps pins 1 and 2 on and then when activated keeps pins 2 and 3 on. I used a slider switch.
The fan header is a perfect fit. All you need to do is cut the appropriate length of the fan cable (keeping the 3-pin plug intact) then solder the middle wire to the middle contact on the switch. Then solder the remaining two wires to the other two contacts on the switch.
Now all you neeed to do is plug it in and it should work perfectly.
Yeah that's all you need a 3 pin fan plug is perfect for the 3 pin CMOS Clr setup, thats what I used on a PC did for someone a while back

I have pics!
Sorry they are crap quality - my camera was made of recycled fail. It doesn't even have a macro mode - Getting a new one for christmas - yay.

This is the full cable -

The fan-connector plug -

The switch (in position 1 the CMOS switch is in the neutral position) In position 2 the CMOS will be cleared after 10 secs.

Wiring to the bottom of the switch. The middle wire is the common 2nd pin (also 2nd pin on mobo)

The switch is a SPDT (Single pole, double throw) slide switch. I reccomend using a toggle switch - it would be soo much easier to mount - one like this would do -

Hope this helps

Honestly I have to say I love your switch. littel and discreet. I could mount that in a place out of sight out of mind untill I needed to use it. A little square hole w/some JB Weld and mounting prob solved. where do/can I get one/two three etc?

Thank you, .49 to .62 cents for that switch. heck I almost wish I was a overclocker case manufacturer for those prices I could buy many. Incidentally you just jump started my memry. I have a box of stuff I forgot about from about 8 years ago from when I took a ROP computer repair A+ Class. I managed to find a little switch that I'll have to put forth a little efort to be able to use it but I think it will work just fine for now. thanks. heres the pic.
