Thanks! I found out the problems with modding though. I do one mod, then I find something else to do, then I have to do another mod, and so on until I'm broke and living on the streets with a cardboard sign that says Will mod for food.

Thanks and you definitely should mod your 300. It's like a whole other case now.

I hope if I paint this weekend it turns out ok. Lots of ideas running through my head...too many.

The only cable that's tight behind the back is the 24-pin. If you can flatten it out just a bit it will work fine. The extra cables fit into the section behind the hard drives pretty good, it's a huge empty spot. Larger zip ties would come in handy there to hold the bulk cables in place.

Ok I'm painting either today or tomorrow. I decided to go with the second pic in my previous post. The inside will be flat white instead of black, black screws, the back panel (pci slots, etc.) will be black on the outside. I'm painting everything flat to start, but I think I'm going with gloss on the outside. Can't wait to get started.

Finally got it taken apart and sanded.

Pic #1: Painting the screws black to offset the white interior...we'll see how it turns out.

Pic #2: Everything out...

Pics #3 & 4: Case sanded.

The sata cables I'm planning on painting black like the screws.

I used 80 grit to scuff and 180 to smooth it out. You might go higher, but I wouldn't think more than 240. After that I gave all of the sanded parts a quick once over the wire brush on the dremel. It turned out very smooth. I don't think I'm going to sand the inside since its basically primer. I'm going to try it out on a side panel before I go all out on the case though, just to be sure.
