I really dig how this evolved man, great job
at first I died a little inside when I saw the stock cooler, then I realized you were going wc ![]() as for the holesaw incident, thats where having a good step-bit lying around is priceless - advice I am going to take myself as well. Next time I am at the hw store or ordering online I am getting a step-bit

Thanks for the comments guys!
Stay tuned as in the next month there will be a couple of updates. The RAM will need some cooling as it gets very hot with not a lot of airflow, so I think I'm going to grab a Dominator Airflow fan (the OCZ one won't fit too well) Hopefully I can get one of the new wider models. Then, I noticed that with the EVGA board the vreg gets really hot when overclocking, so I've ordered the Bitspower Black Freezer set for the board. A one-piece NB/SB and a vreg block. That will be added to the GPU loop as I'd like to keep the i7 on its own since it gets so damn hot. Also in the near future: GTX 285s (total number TBD )@CR - A step-bit would have been awesome for me.

This is a sweet mod, I love the sleeveing on the water cooling. Kinda off topic question though, what can you use a PCI-E x4 slot for? I haven't seen one yet.

Alright, a couple of (pictureless) updates.
1) Due to the heat the vreg puts out, I've ordered the Bitspower waterblock set for this board, so stay tuned for an update of the loop 2) I'm dialling in my 24/7 oc somewhere around 3.9GHz with the RAM at 1628 7-8-7-20 and the bclk at 206. The 20 multi doesn't like me so far. I'm running on 1.325v in bios, which gives me up to 1.36v under load (EVGA's anti-vdroop actually gives you more juice when you need it instead of less :biggrin ![]() My current settings pass 20 runs of LinX (Linpack testing) I'm now testing the RAM with Memtest to see how it does. Once that happens, I'm going to concentrate on tweaking the voltages down (CPU voltage has bottomed out at 1.325v *bios*, anything lower and it crashes around 15 passes of LinX) I'll tweak each voltage down as low as I can and hopefully that will help me with temps. I'm also going to try bumping bclk bit by bit to see if I can't squeeze things up to the magical 4GHz barrier.

Testing out the lighting with the red CCFL. I've put one under the near window below the acrylic mobo tray and the other above the window. It looks a lot brighter in the pic than it actually is.
I don't like the blue lights on the front I need to figure out a way to reverse them so they shine red. They're too damn bright. I remember a mod someone did where they reversed the lights and put something on them to lower the intensity. I need to find that.Anyway, here are the pics. The CCFL kit comes with a connector for a 3-pin header, so I can control the on/off from the Rheobus for both lights! I'm not 100% sold on the red...I'm thinking white CCFLs might do better with my black/silver theme. ![]() ![]()

I freaking love it. You should definitely sleave the fan and ccfl wires though.
