Right now the poll shows that people prefer metallic red. The only thing I'm worried about that color is that my current front fans have blue led. I also want to do the synthetic ice mod on the window. Should I get blue or red cold cathodes for around the window or possibly white? Would it look weird to have blue led's with a red metallic case? I could always move 1 of the led lights to the back of the case and swap out the other from the rear fan in my current 300. Would that work better or would the lights inside the case be conflicting with one another?

I've got some new questions. Do I need to derivet the case for painting? If so what should brand/ model should I use for this? What size are the rivets on this case? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

deriveting makes it easier to give the parts a proper paint job, but its more work (as with most things)

to derivet use a 1/8" drill bit and a dash of tapping fluid (or wd-40) on the drill bit
use drill bits for metal (bi-metal, or all purpose including metal)
dont bother trying to get the rivet heads off the bit until after youre all done

to rerivet youll need a pop rivet gun and the same size and alloy rivets that you started with (ie if they are aluminum, use aluminum when replacing, if steel, use steel, dont cross match)

pop rivet guns are inexpensive, and they are unwieldly when the shafts snap so get a plastic card and punch a hole in it to act as a sheild for the painted parts when reassembling

skim thru Jessie's Gumdrop worklog for pics of deriveting, and reriveting after paint, if you like

Thanks. I use Rigid brand bi-metal holesaws (available at home depot, lowes), but I also have a few Ace hw ones. On all holesawing I use Tap Magic fluid that I brush on the the teeth before the cut. Using cutting/tapping fluid will yield cleaner cuts and will make your tools last longer. A small can of general purpose Tap Magic is only 5 or 6 bucks iirc, and its good to have around for many aspects of modding, especially if you will be doing any actual tapping. I use it on all metal cutting with the exception of cutting with dremel cutting disks, there you dont want to use it.

Is it ok to use wd40 as a substitute? I have a friend that is a custom iron worker and he might be able to cut some holes for me. I haven't gotten a reply yet, so I'll update you when I do. Do you know what rivet size and what metal is used for the antec 900 rivets? Any good riveters you use, or can I just buy the cheapest one they have? I won't be needing to use it after his project.

wd40 should be ok, spray some on a rag, and wet the teeth that way
normally cases are rivetted with 1/8", measure to be sure, not sure the material on that case's rivets
most pop rivet guns come with a starter set of rivets of varying sizes and material, the one I got from mcmaster-carr was that way and it was like 25 bucks or so
