thanks for the kind words guys. Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll be cutting some wire management holes and one huge hole on top to fit this:

and this:

Also I need to fab up something to secure the bottom corner of the mobo tray that's just kind of hanging out. lol.

mobo tray wire management holes cut:

painting the chassis black:

still needs another coat....

here's where my planning goes arwy.....i sort of forgot that my cards are now at the TOP of the comp.....not enough room for the fillport here so i'll have the move it to the corner. Ideas for what to do with this (now unneeded) hole? I'm thinking about a rocker switch to turn some cfls on/off.

What is the diameter of that hole? The rocker switches from Performance PC's need a .8" hole, so they suggest you use a 3/4" holesaw.
If the hole is that size, then perfect, but if it is bigger you may need to find some switches elsewhere. Most I see are .5"-.8" holes.

The hole is 1"...i'm considering just using some of the aluminum i cut from the top of the case to make a small switch panel, big enough to fit 2 rocker switches. I might install a set of UV cfls for leaktesting and a set of white cfls for "bling".

I should have a semi-major update this weekend. The parts have been trickling in (mostly from Petra's) and the chassis should be painted and assembled by sunday. I will still have a bunch of wiring to do, but it should really start coming together. I've changed course a bit, decided to paint the outside flat black too (it just looks so purpose-built!) and i've decided to go with white tubing for the liquid cooling. I hope the whole look comes together.
