project: afterburner midnight
A mod based on the Cooler Master Centurion 590. REVISION: Due to monetary issues and time constraints, this project is being "downgraded", and will excluded some original ideas like the water cooling and some lighting/creative effects. WORKLOG ![]() CONCEPT: To give an old Cooler Master Centurion 590 a cosmetic update and to make minor improvements on functionality. VISUAL THEME: The case will be painted black, with orange and red highlights. Lighting will include red and blue cathode lights, and, using Xigmatek XLF-F1253 120mm fans, create an "afterburner" effect. An acrylic side panel will be cut and fitted, and an emblem will be cut into various points on the case, with red LED backlights. The front bezel will be fitted with acrylic, with holes cut in the acrylic for the Xigmatek 120mm fans. All acrylic will be of the "smoky grey" variety. The 5.25" drive bays will be cut shorter to make room for the forward fans and allow for better airflow. The HDD bay will also be replaced by a Lian Li aluminum cage. Any questions? Suggestions? Recommendations? Changes? Any and all income welcome.

Some extremely sloppy drawings I put together with MS Paint roughly outlining what I want this to look like.
EDIT: Pictures removed pending a more refined remake of the drawings.

Cut the grill off of the rear 120mm fan grill to decrease noise.

Just tossed the parts in there this morning, so the cable management is a mess and nothing's plugged in. The lights and fans in the picture are actually powered by the adjacent computer's molex connector, but you kinda get the idea of the work I put into the case.

Hey, thanks man. Yeah, I don't know. I kinda like the contrast of the blue, orange, and red, but I'll look into getting orange lights. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure if they sell orange cathodes so I'd have to used an LED strip.

I really love the e2160. Great little proc. Anyway, I really can't find orange CCFLs anywhere. Apparently the only way to get a truly orange CCFL is to get a white one and cover it with orange gel paper. Which I might do if I decide on orange. Idk why someone doesn't just make an orange CCFL. I know lots of people would buy them. :/
