I'll pass, as I don't think I'll be seeing 5Ghz anytime soon like you did.

Here are some updates:

I just managed to get the replacement 8800GTX from Ebay in the mail and have it already up and running.

The tri-120mm radiator that I was using has also been test mounted in the case. Fortunately, Sidewinder Computers was kind enough to include a ton of mounting screws that fit perfectly with 120mm fans that I have right now.
This should mean that I won't have a problem once I go to replace the fans.

I am still waiting on the Koolance waterblock that I had ordered through Ebay as well. The guy supposedly shipped it from New York via USPS, so who knows where it is now. I just sent a message to the guy and hopefully I'll get a response back. If not, then here comes the Ebay Dispute.

Just filed a tax return, so I should be able to pick up some more goodies after getting back some hard-earned no no money.

I'm still going to go with the Northbridge/Southbridge waterblock, which should be really nice, but I think that it can wait until I get the rest of the watercooling upgrades installed.

The sleeving will also happen, just not sure on when.
I think that the roll of 1/8" black nylon sleeving should work wonders on this project.
I'll just have to either order a cheap heatgun from somewhere, or find a decent hairdryer for the heatshrink that I'm getting via Performance-PC's.

Otherwise, things are slowly progressing.
Since this is my main computer and I don't have a aircooler for the cpu, I can't work on the case until I get everything together for a major rebuild.

I'm also worried about the Bitspower stubby angle fittings that I will be using on the XSPC 5.25" Drive Bay Pump/Reservoir to go to the front dual-120mm radiator. To avoid any issues, I will most likely have to reconfigure the drive bay area: Top slot will be for the hard drive. Second for the DVD Burner. Third for the bay reservoir. Fortunately, I think that the tubing I have will be flexible enough to work out with this configuration.

More plans to come....and hopefully some pictures.

hehe, I do not run 5ghz everyday with the E8600, I run it at 4.55ghz! For 5ghz you need a killer volt

may I ask why you bought Koolance?
What nb/sb block are you talking about?

cheers

Koolance block was the most available and less expensive than the Danger Den block. Plus it works just fine for what I'm doing.

you wouldnt have any problems with the aluminum xspc res and copper blocks. the res is anodized and wont corrode. i have a smaller one in my htpc loop with copper blocks now and havent had any corrosion for the 2 years it has been together. havent even had to change the coolant (should probably do that some day though lol)

Awesome. I appreciate your feedback.
I'll have some time to work on the design a bit, as I'm literally running on like $10 in my account right now....ugh...college.

Still, I just opened up two of my older Koolance 8800GTX waterblocks and found an incredible amount of corrosion in both. Fortunately, I was able to clean both of them up to the point that they are still usable. I know I should have taken pictures, but it was a Friday night...didn't know when I was going out, so I had to hurry. If I have time tomorrow, I might open them back up again and snap some quickies for you all.

Bottom line, I'm waiting on a nice tax return and some other funds until I'll be able to order the fans, connectors, and thermal paste, which should run me in the $100 range after shipping.

Sorry if this is taking awhile, but hey...I'm in college...

On the bright side, I did manage to get the third 8800GTX and Koolance waterblock, so that's all over with...thankfully.

I'm almost to that point where I can go ahead with the modding and get things where I want them. The sleeving most likely won't happen until after I get everything else, but I look at the sleeving job as the finisher for this pc build.

Sweet. Thanks.

It wouldn't be any fun without the turmoils of overclocking.

i have heard of other having issues with koolance blocks. something about the bad plating job they do leads to the coating coming off or not completely covering the item, so corrosion begins
