The way I see it, if you buy the top of the line Dremel it should come with the kitchen sink.

CR: I got the same Dremel/Drill Press....Used it for the first time on my mod. It works awesomely. I especially like the Flex Shaft extension, which allows to get close comfortably in those hard to reach areas....anyways, Subbed! Can't wait to see the end results.

Hey here is a thought....Instead of a traffic light type layout, why not make them look like Daisies, with some sort of backlighting or film filters for different colors? I used paint to try and draw it.....It should be easy to layout and cut. Maybe different colored acrylic used like a stained glass window with a white CCFL behind it.... A yellow circle surrounded by white "petal" half circles....you get the idea

flexi shaft is a must have with the dremel imho, same goes for ezlock system

as for the front case design (or lack thereof) thanks for the suggestions, but at this point I still dont know what I am going to do with the front. Today I have to hit HomeDepot for a blade for my circular saw, and make a jig for drill pressing the holes in the cubes, on-center, and consistently.

I don't know if you have dealt with acrylic before, but may i make a suggesstion for bonding? You can make your own acrylic cement that matches the color of your acrylic perfectly, it just takes a couple days to make the cement. Take scraps of your colored acrlic (the transparent green and the black seperated of course) and smash them down to small pieces/shavings/dust and put them into a large masonry jar. Take some acetone and put enopug in the jar to completely cover the acrylic (not much higer over the top of the acrylic or the mixture will be too thin). Cover it. Over the next 24 hours, stir it with an old screwdriver or something ever few hours until, voila! you have a sticky goop that is your DIY acrylic cement. Best way to apply it is with an old medical syringe (sans needle of course). Clamp the pieces together and let it dry for a few hours and you now have a bond that appears seamless that is the same color as your acrylic.

thanks for that tutorial mate. IPS Weld On #3 is invisible in the seems and it joins the two pieces at the molecular level, forming stronger joints than the original material, as opposed to mechanical bonding as you suggested. I have made a note of your suggestion in case I ever need to use that technique +rep

having said all that, the only stuff being bonded are the anchoring cubes, to the black panels (bottom and top mostly, some centers on rear and front) The cubes will be predrilled and tapped 6-32 before bonding. Once bonded and set all the panels can be connected to each other via 3/4" black oxide screws.

well thats the plan anyway

I got a 7 1/4" 140 Tooth circular saw blade last night, so cutting shall commence this afternoon

That's a lot of teeth! It should go through acrylic real nice and give good looking edges even before you finish them off.
Really looking forward to seeing some modding action from you again
