Nice work though. I hope to mess around with acrylic after I replenish my funds (bought a plasma tv today)
cheers

or i hear zotac is going to release a intel itx mobo with a pciex16 slot
Geeks.com usually gets a shipment of those J&W boards once every three weeks and they go fast
thanks, parts are already ordered (and were delivered and lost - see Rants & Raves section for that story)

I like the overall design and the color scheme.
I would like to see a more detailed update regarding the front panel soon.
While the lower intake fan obvious I want to know more about the 2 upper 'circles' where you intend to put lights and switches.
I am concerned that the front panel may turn out bit to 'cold' and the little girl my not like it because the computer looks too 'serious'.
Please treat the above comment as a 'thought stimulation' and not as criticism

Also not having optical drive how will you go about installing software? External drive?
yeah, the front panel is a bit boring. It will most likely evolve as I go. I was going to put the reset and power switches in the center of each green circle, and maybe mount the led's in the black area between those upper two and the lower one which will be a fan opening. I will wire "anti-jessie" switches again but this time the back switches will be regular toggles, not the kind that return to off by themselves, that way as she gets older and can boot the machine herself, and knows not to press the front buttons for fun, I can just set the rear ones on so the fronts act as regular momentaries. I am open to design suggestions as well so dont be shy. I plan to round over the black panels using a router.

As for installs, I will load the machine with what it needs (os) from a spare drive, if I need to install other stuff later I can share a network drive or get an external. Since she's ony three (going to be, this is her b-day present) its not like she'll be needing tons of stuff installed from disks

Holy Chuckle Tits! CR with a new mod! Sub'd!

EDIT: And if it was me, it would be orange and black but that's my bias.

@ CR re optical drive...

Lol, I keep forgetting how young Jessie is. Expecting a 3yo to tweak Windows 7 and raid Daddy's software library is probably unrealistic
