Curious.
__________________I noted in a couple of pics when you lads painted the HAF, the taping had newspaper on the top (covering the mesh) surrounded at the edges with tape. wouldn't it be better to tape right over the mesh to prevent the paint from coming onto the other side of the mesh? (As the black on the outside of the case differs in shade)

Yes robilar you are right. I also went back and taped it down so the paint wouldn't go through and leave marks. but I know what picture you're talking about.
Thanks loop, I appreciate the words. I took my time and wanted it to look nice.. I will take pictures of the back panel if you'd like. It is sort of a mess, but if you run them in an organized way it will work perfect. on my CM 690 that back panel had a bulge in it from all the wires, but the HAF's back panel has a popout and that really helps the cable management in the back. I will take a picture of all the wires tonight if you'd like and post it for you. and prosser, if you'd like more pics let me know and I'll take some certain ones, or whatever.. It's about time I do another photo shoooot Thanks for all the compliments guys.. Next Step will be a Single GT300 if they are good enough to beat my SLI, and I'll Water cool it!

Hey... here's a pic of mine assembled.
I ran into an interesting issue that I thought I'd share. If anyone is gonna do a mod to their HAF case and remove the drive bay, I'd suggest that when reinstalling it, use some weather stripping at the bottom where the two legs rivet onto the base. After getting my box back together, I noticed that at time there was a vibration noise coming somewhere in the case. It took a while to isolate the area that was making the noise and as a result, I've got weather stripping pretty much everywhere metal screws into metal (including the PSU!). I used a cheap foam rubber stripping from Home depot, 1/8" wide and 5/16 height.... pretty much the smallest they had. After installing, you cant see any of it. The second pic I attached shows the area where I had the vibration noise, circled in white. |

Ya Rustoleum is great stuff.. More of it is the preperation and the sanding during each coat of the actual paint.
I also have used Matte, and Glossy black on PC's and I personally think that if your going black. the Satin is the ONLY one to use. as the color and the not to dull, not to shiny and glossy look is just perfect with the satin. good luck Mocha, I see you're still without a case!
