You could do a very subtle chamfer by hand with sandpaper, and then re-polish the edge; or you could use a router with a bit that has a profile that you like.

I am assuming you have a router table set-up Syr? I meant to check on the prices today, but we drove right past Lowes. What is the bit called that you would recommend for such a chamfer??

Here is the front panel config that my wife likes the best. The ovals would be fan controls, and light switches. I am currently working on a couple of other designs. I LOVE Google Sketchup btw...I can't believe it's free.

Edit: Man, the more I look at it, the more I am digging the high gloss white powder coat, against the bright red acrylic. What do you guys think? Let me know some color combos. I could mock them up and we'll post a poll. (keep in mind the aluminum can only be PC'd in high gloss white, low gloss black, or medium gloss gray. The acrylic can be whatever colors I can find at Delvie's or Tap).

I have a home-made router table that I use with a Bosch palm-router. The round over depends upon the thickness of the panel.

On 1/4" panels a 1/8" round over looks quite nice. If you are using a thinner gauged panel, then you may need to double-up with another panel for a guide, or use a rip-fence and turn the panel vertically while running it across the bit.

And yeah! Sketchup is awesome. I love it too as I am a complete noob at 3D -design work.

It will more than likely be 1/4 inch stuff. Any color combos you think would look cool. I am half color blind, so i could really drop the ball here.

Well... there are the age-old Blue/Black or Red/Black combinations. But, (and I mean no offense) if you are unable to distinguish the coloration, then perhaps it does not matter.

Black on black or Clear on Black might be cool.

Btw, which colors or spectrums are outside of your perception? Again, I ask hesitantly as I do not wish to offend....

I have trouble with different shades of blue and yellow/green (that is mainly why i model in red). They all look the same to me. (unless it's drastic).

Btw.....Don't worry about offending me. I'm pretty thick skinned when it comes to being online. (I, unlike some, have a sense of humor)

Stick with your cubies theme White powder coat, blue acrylic and some red

Or red as main acrylic with a little blue

Or red acrylic with blue fan guards and such

That thing could withstand a Nuke! Have you thought about a modular approach with that type of aluminium channel?

Great build Sub'd

You should make it red, white, and blue to truly honor Mr Norris. You're off to a good start with that red and white front panel. Keep it up!

Did you hear he's going to be the president of Texas?

I love that material. I went to Item website and saw this part which would have made sweet corners.
