I think not.
Thanks Syr. It's my hard earned money at play. I have to thank my wife for letting me slide once in awhile.

"say hello to my little fwend!"

grats on the drill press, and on getting one with the correct battery box lol.
Now I see the lower left spring was supposed to be compressed into a contact, I had to pull mine out a bit to put pressure on both batteries towards the right, so my paperclip deal makes good contact.

How come no laser pics?

I cant wait to get back into my garage workshop when the weather warms up
nice workshop mate

I had my jig already on the pedestal, when I was going to take pics. Too bad it messes up the lasers, or I would have shot a few.

Default Update: March 3, 2009

Got some supplies from the big brown truck today....late I might add. 5:30 pm....which leaves me really no chance to work on construction today....It's supposed to be nice out this weekend, so it looks like a weekend project. I will need to take the stock out to work to cut to length, as they have a killer horizontal band saw. Awesome packaging by the way. No rattles is this box, that's for sure.

Loot:

I am using flush mount bolts, so there is a bit of machining left to do. We'll see how durable these drills are CR.

A LOT left to do:

Nice.

I wish I had the saw they use:

All the 1 x 1:

The 2 x 1:

Well, as bummed out about it as I am, that is all for today. More updates this weekend, if all goes as planned (when does it?).

Thanks for watching,

Ramsey77

nice mate
what are you using to make the countersinks, an oversized bit or a countersink bit? And I assume you are using a precise depth stop setting?

That is the piece I set my depth with actually, so the stop is set on my drill (We'll see if it stays put! *fingers are crossed*). The bolt heads will stick out about a 16th, but it will be ok. All the joining plates will be black and the bolt heads will be polished for contrast. I am using an old countersink bit. It is, however, a 3 flute, opposed to the new one i got at Lowes, which is a single flute (it's total crap, btw). I need a new Hss countersink. I will have to order one when I burn this one up....it's on it's way out now. I would love to get these powdered, but there is nowhere close to do this. The good news is, the aluminum and all the fasteners i got today came in at around 30 pounds. It's gonna weigh enough to be substantial, but not enough to need 3 people to lift. It is a good thing I didn't go with the 1.5 inch stuff though. I am REALLY anxious to get some progress behind me, so i can continue the design of the interior and hdd mounts.

Default 3-5-09 Update

Well, I have all of my stock cut to length, and deburred. I am bummed, however, as I realized while mocking it up, that I left out 5 crucial joining plates. They are ordered, but I am pretty much screwed on any more mock assembly. Ugh. Those are the ropes i guess.

New flavor...it's killer:

Joining plates for the bottom frame are ready. My countersink bit won't last much longer I am afraid:

Stock all laid out in order:

Old water bed headboard used as shelf. Just put it back up, along with a couple new shop lights:

What to do, what to do:

Follow the instructions dummy:

Bottom frame is coming together. You can start to visualize my idea now:

Square and true. A good base to start with:

Top of the bottom:

Lucy wanted to say hello. She is a long haired (extremely) Jack Russel terrier. Our black and tan male, Charlie, was in the house being a baby. He doesn't like the cold.... The flash on my camera works really well, as it's pitch black outside:

So did China, she is a shaved Australian Shepherd/Chow mix. She gets hot very easily, so we put the clippers to her. LOL she loves it.
