if you are putting a rad in the roof why do you need airflow from the front?

He may be using a downdraft to get the coolest air possible to flow across the radiator.

[edit] ...actually me response may be irrelevant....

Never posted from a blackberry before. Here goes..

Just scared that 2 92 mm fans won't be enough to give proper airflow to 2 or 3 120mm fans. If I have a vent in front they can pull nice fresh air from the front.

Glad to see some enthusiasm. You and the other subscribers are being rewarded with a lot of pictures today!

Alright. So the case came in today and after admiring its beauty for a few minutes, I did what I do best - take it apart!

Here's the box when it came in:

I wasted no time and started taking it apart. The next few shots are over a period of about 15 minutes. The case is almost completely rivet-free (with the exception of the motherboard tray and the thing that guides the motherboard tray into place. The <15 rivets in the case can easily be drilled out for painting and then put back in place.

And finally the whole mess in one shot. It's going to be real tough to keep track of how to put it back together - not because it's a complex puzzle, but because I completely forgot which screws go where! I guess I can just go find some pictures online of some other fool taking his case apart!

Now to start the modding! Okay so first to test for fit. I don't like the way that the fans show through the grill, so I'm going to put all the fans on the inside. Yes, this does mean that the double will be in a pull only configuration, but I think I will still have adequate cooling. Putting the fans on the inside also allows me to space the rads as far as possible from each other. Hopefully I can avoid having to use 90 degree turns as that would kill the flow in my loop, which I've decided will use only 1 pump.

Here are the rads:

And when they're tubed up, the Tygon bends just right to avoid kinks and make it out of the basement. Success! The bottom fittings will tube directly to each other.

So now that the rads are setup this way, it's time to decide exactly how the loop is going to go. Here are my thoughts, for now:

Pump (sitting on the middle "floor") => Reservoir (with fillport out the top of the case) = > CPU => NB => GPU1 => GPU2 => Rad 4x120 (basement) => Rad2 2x120 (basement) => back to pump

More news:

Since you can't actually get a replacement TJ07 window and my modding experience is limited to painting a case pink, I've contacted Bill Owen from MNPCTECH on a quote for the window cutout. Last thing I want is to screw up a side panel on a $233 (yes that's how much I got it for, new) case that can't be replaced.

Later tonight I'll mask up the case and start the "cutting planning." This includes the "blowhole" (for the danger den fill port) and cable management holes, as well as a hole behind the CPU for mounting and dismounting the water block. Also, I'll figure out how to mount the reservoir, blacklights, on/off switch that I got, and other things like HDDs.

Edit - I also figured out where to get the metal for my front murderbox-style panel. I feel really dumb because for a while I didn't know where to find a suitable piece. Rather than spending money, I'm just going to take the part of the side panel that I cut out for the window, and re-use it up front. Problem solved! I'll use one main piece to do a 4/5-bay cover (depending on weather I want to add a front LCD or not) and use the rest of the leftover metal to make some mounting hardware.

Finally, more pictures!
