NOPE. tha stuff melts and makes a mess when near heat oh well you live you learn

I still have a toggle switch to mount for the cathodes, and i got to flip the side fan over to use that as an exaust. Right now my case ambient temps are too high, im sitting at around 40 idle. Not happy with that as it brought all my temps up to around 40-43.

The top and bottom rads are pulling cool air in, the back fan as well. The front fan is the exhaust. and im making the side fan exhaust too. Anyone have ideas for a different set-up?
Emersonsc, what device/tool did you use on the heat shrink to get it to work?

In regards to your airflow question, I've never worked with WC'ing equipment but I'm thinking maybe you could switch the rear fan to exhaust and the front to intake. There could be more heat build up behind the case where the rear fan is intaking. I'll give you a ring to one my buddies to see if he can chime in on your airflow question.

Good luck

emersonsc, good-looking set-up.

I'm a little confused about the temperatures you cited. When you say "case ambient," what do you mean exactly? Is this a reading from a probe mounted somewhere inside the case? Or is this a reading from one of the sensors on the motherboard?

I think a most relevant question is your room's ambient temperature, as well. Do you happen to know what your room's temperature is?

As far as fan setups go, I would go along with what thlnk3r suggested and have the fan set up as an intake and the top rear fan near the CPU socket to exhaust; the side fan I would make an intake as well. Try that configuration and see if that results in better system temperatures. If it doesn't, then at least you'll have a better idea of what works and what doesn't.

Good luck.

Emersonsc, right on. I'm glad that helped. Let us know how everything else works out. What is the highest temp you typically see during summer time (ambient)?

Good luck

Emersonsc, sorry to hear that.

I was just wondering. For me when summer hits, my ambients are usually around 26-27C. That usually raises my machine temps by like 4-5C. Ack

Good luck bud

Looks amazing, makes me wish I have some money so I could do that to my HAF

Why did you choose to put the PSU on the top? (out of curiosity)

What I would've done is put one rad up top, and the other externally mounted at the back via a rad box.

Either way, your setup looks great. I will be doing my first WC within the week. I just got my CM HAF and my MCR320, just waiting on my order from Petra's Tech.

Good luck with everything man.
