Today my friend came by with a window mockup he made out of wood. It gives a nice general idea of the shape and positioning.
We removed most of the rivets in order to cleanly cut out the top window and paint the interior paneling. Drilling out the rivets was easier than I expected and the entire process took only half an hour.
And while we were drilling holes, I also fixed an issue with the slipping brake on the rear axle. Other V-series owners will probably recognize this problem, where the steel cube will slide over the axle, eliminating the actual locking mechanism. Tightening the screw doesn’t help really. To solve this issue we drilled a little hole in the axle, for the screw to lock into and keep the cube in place.
I’m also trying to come up with a proper name for this project. I was thinking of "satin", but if you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them.
