Butcher's Hook - Day 24 -lets build a meathook trolley 02

anyone remember this mod?

last time I was here I cut the inner trolley wheel, well now I needed to cut the outter ones that will sandwich it. 1 7/8 bimetal holesaw, and a 2" sheet of steel (1/8" thick)

set up the steel on the drill press, with a squirt bottle of cutting fluid (super nasty stuff) I wore goggles, a respirator, earplugs, and gloves. I put the drill press by the door and cranked the fan at it. that cutting fluid is pure poison.

couldnt take pics during the cutting due to the hazardous chemicals, but heres the raw cut parts (after having been doused with AI)

test fit with a 1/4-20 screw thats too short

trolley took a back seat for a min, while I widened the wire holes. set up the right angle drill

blam

back to the trolley fab, began measuring out the particulars

decided to cut the front part's hole before cutting it off (easier while its still one big piece)

then laid the part for cutting

after cut off - test fit

went across to the hw store and spent a whopping 49 cents so I could have the right length screw and bolt for the trolley work

after cutting the short top piece (3/4")

clamped

and clamped more

tacked the short sides then blasted some molten steel along the top face

inside weld ready

rough welded part (notice I am not showing the weld inside? lol)

test fit

its leaning forward because theres no weight yet on the back, but there will be tomr

tomr Ill continue on the trolley

thanks for watching

I don't know how you make it through all the small stuff. I hate welding small things... never anything to work with.
