yep, I love that song. A few years back on a 4th I was flipping channels and the Boston Pops was on live from boston harbor. they did that song as the finale'. In the quiet build up towards the end, USMC in full dress moved canons to the shore line, and stood ready as the cresendo of the song approached. When that part hit (the classic part) each team of usmc like robots were firing the guns in perfect time with the music. I was never so awestruck by a piece of patriotic music before, as I was at that moment. The song, the canons, the background fireworks - it was amazing

Ironically it has nothing to do with the history of the US; it was composed for the 70th anniversary of Russia's defense of Napoleon's army at Moscow (and the dedication of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, which was also constructed to commemorate the defeat of the french army). When Tchaikovsky visited the US in 1891 he performed it for the dedication of Carnegie Hall and since then it has often been performed as the finale for 4th of July concerts.

not so much "cm" but there will be red led's wired thru the uprights and down in small parts at the top. there is already a hole where the two parts join so the wire will not be visible over the top either. should cast a nice blood red glow down the uprights once the thing is chromed

I was downtown in Boston this year again. I love when they play that song, though I must say though... Neal Diamond was there, yeah he wasnt that great. Made me cringe a little. He sang Sweet Caroline like 1000 times.
