Lol, there is really nothing to welding. You just have to drop the cash on a good one otherwise you are just wasting your money. I'm about to go out and get some stuff just so that I can build me something. And be sure that I will have it posted here on OCN and yes, it will be powder coated lol

Oh, I know that there's nothing to welding. I just don't have a welder.

I had metal shop for a couple years in High School. You should pick me something up!

I wouldnt say there's "nothing" to welding. Stick welding aint a piece of piss. Maybe MIG is twinkle-toes by comparison, but stick welding is like an alley brawl every step of the way

How are you going to do the star, are you going to make a triangle out of wood and use it as the form? Because none of us want crooked triangles.

actually I am going to probably cut 9" sections at 45 degrees, then use a magnetic clamp to hold 2 parts at a time at 60 degrees (what about the other 15 degrees you ask?) thats about enough root gap for welding. any blowover can be grinded

So you're going to make 2 triangles and then overlay them?
