NEW Feature of the Case Mods forum!

not to sound negative but this a lazy fix to some much needed redo of furom. i would prefer sub sections. it would make it alot easier to work with.

We debated sub-forums and all agreed that it would tend to 'segregate' the forum. We don't have as many mod logs here on OCN as other sites already, splitting these up into sub-sections just didn't seem the right thing to do. We feel this is the best thing, it makes the forum easy to skim, while keeping the community together. Thanks for your input though

If you've got any better suggestions feel free - I suggested Case Mod over New Build as I was worried about people confusing the forum with a build logs forum and it covers a wide range of ideas

Subforums would never work IMO. The sheer amount of mod work required to move threads constantly, as well as the difficulty in navigating, would make it more of a hassle than a help.

If anyone needs thread titles/prefixes changed and does not have the option/ability to do so, then please PM a member of the case mods staff to do so.

We did discuss sub-forums vs prefixes and decided that using sub-forums would require more work to moderate and also require all the old threads to be moved into the appropriate sections, while the prefixes make it easy to tell what type of project it is without requiring much additional moderation. and FWIW, I have seen plenty of modding related forums that simply use tags for different types of builds rather than using sub-sections.


If anyone has suggestions on better/additional prefixes, then please let us know.

Did you got to the edit post for the first post then click the go advanced button? The prefixes are only available in the advanced post editor.

Okay, I was able to change my current log, but not one of the older ones (Halcyon).
