NEW Feature of the Case Mods forum!

This new feature is to make the forum a bit more coherent and easy to read. We've added thread prefixes that will allow you guys to 'size up' a mod before you open the thread itself. Please use these and enjoy them guys, you can see them to the left of your thread title when making a new thread!

The newly made prefixes are for:

• Paint
• Scratch
• Finished
• Case Mod
• Case Rebirth

Definitions for each prefix are as follows:

Paint - This is just a repaint of the case. Very little cutting or other modding involved. Could be just an interior paint change, or the exterior.

Scratch - This is a 'from the ground up' build. A techstation, acrylic case, metal framed case/etc. Not a 'out of the box' case.

Finished - Just a finished mod. Let's people know the log is not in progress but is completed.

Case Mod - This is a build with a new case. More than a 'paint mod'. This is probably where most of the builds fall. Windows, fan holes, cable management, whatever you can think of. It just involves a new(er) case and your work.

Case Rebirth - This one is just like a 'Case Mod' but involves an old case. Like an old Gateway PII rig or something similar. It's taking an older, salvation army-type case and rebuilding it.

Hrm, you bring up a point here CR. I think what I'll do is have an added prefix for "Finished" and we can stop putting "Project" on altogether. As the new prefixes seem to make 'project' obsolete. Especially if we just add a "Finished" prefix.

well if its in a lookup table in the database it should be easy to add items, or change them.

In the meantime I added the appropriate prefixes to all my builds here on ocn

You may want to add a Cable Mang type to the list as well

Hiya Geezer!

I wouldn't say preferred, I mean, if you'd like to, by all means please do! This is just something to work into the forum as it comes along. I would like to see most of the first few pages doing this though. As said, it will make it much simpler to quickly and effectively skim the forum.
