Default Green Envy

Hey all.

Decided to upload a worklog for modding my Antec 300 case.
So here it is!
This was scattered over a few weekends and i didnt always have my camera on me. So its all in one big load.

Heres a pic of the build just finished. No modding done. Agh! the CPU power connector doesnt reach any other way..

Here I've cut a large side window, cut cable management holes, and painted the interior white.

Cutting

Getting it all measured up. was following a guide from an issue of AtomicMPC magazine. www.atomicmpc.com.au - best mag ever

Used the role of double sided tape to measure the corners.

Huzzah! its cut! Jigsaw, file and goggles present (always remember eye protection)

Here it is again

Decided to cut some cable management holes.

Wow that looks messy... serious filing needed.

Painting

Disassembed the case, and painted all the interior white, while the pci slots, thumbscrews and front fan grills black.

Dvd drive cover painted in this pic

Showing the difference between the new white and the old grey. It can be hard to tell during painting.

Parcel arrives

Got some cheapo Ram heatspreaders. Looks stylish and does a great job.

Voiding the warrenty... always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside..

Coolermaster megaflow. an absolute bargain for a fan of this size. Planning to put this in the side window.

cheapo OEM green LED fans. 2x120mm and 2x80mm

For the future

Want to install better power and reset switches. (already changed the power and hdd leds to green and red ones. Blue is so boring..)
Also want to do something else with the top of the case, just in front of the 140mm fan.
Was thinking of a small window, with either perspex or some sort of mesh behind it. Or a few holes for the 80mm fans. What do you reckon?
Oh and everythings going to have U-channel around it. bought 3 meters of the stuff

And got some new case feet from an old Yamaha Audio Tuner. Best feet I’ve ever seen IMO. free too!

Pics some other time
