Default Similer Mods

Keeping in mind that I did not go to the extremes you did, I figure I would share my own Q7 mod.

I took:
e8400 @ 3.0
ZOTAC GF9300-D-E (775 Socket/DDR2-800/9300 w/hybrid SLI, 1 Esata)
Zotac 9600GT PCIE-16
4096mb DDR2-800
80gb 7200RPM 2.5 Sata2 Drive
320gb 5400RPM 2.5 Sata2 Drive
550 Fullsize PSU
Custom 168W Peliter
2x Swiftech chipset coolers
1x Swiftech aplogee GT
Themaltake Aquabay

and made a custom case mod to hold the resivor and a custom cooling mod on the top for the hot side heatsync of the peilter. The closest thing to this mod is the Cool-it Freezone. Pictures are avialible here. Any questions PM me. Would be happy to help in any way I can.

That is a nice looking build DJ. A little sleeving and cable management is in order, other than that it looks really nice.
Its a powerful little beast I bet.

Back to updates. Its been a while since I posted any updates about the build. Its because I dont have any .
A couple of things have evolved in the past week or so.

1. The case will now be powdercoated. After several PM's being exchanged between our own OCN Artisan we settled on Prismatic Black for the outside and a mirror black for the HDD and CD drive bay. the PSU housing will also now be coated Mirror black.

2. The acrylic for the project arrived yesterday and I will be getting them laser cut this weekend.

Expect a whole bunch of updates this weekend.

Really nice of you to do this for your brother!
You're dropping some serious cash with powder coating and laser cutting, hope he likes it

Good luck!

the word "gemini" + "stars" are a bit too prominent for such a small case IMO. i would definitely just go with something more attractive like a symbol for the word gemini which is actually much more preferable than the stars. well even if the letters are smaller (less prominent) it would be ok. remember, less is more, that's why and how i like all my lian li cases anyway for the symbols i found a few for ideas.. but even if you just find a better font for the word Gemini it would be good, just make it smaller. and not cursive use the some bold font to give that same feeling as the toughness of the case itself.

if this is an expensive prank, do put 2 nude twins up there as big as you want lol

wasted...you got orange peel because you most likely did not wetsand between color and top coat and then wetsand in between top coats.

or

You got orange peel because you simply didn't use/have enough clearcoat to make a uniform coat.

Case in point. A motherboard tray I did with no prep - scuff, prime, color, clear. No orangepeel. What you don't see is the 2 x 11 oz cans of clear lacquer i used basically puddling it up on the tray.

Hopefully this will point you in the right direction. If it were me in your shoes and you really wanted it to gleam properly, I would let the clearcoat fully cure and gas out for 1 week. Then wetsand it with some 1500 grit wetordry paper then add more clear. Rinse and repeat until you achieve the desired results.

IMO, as-is it looks good though so I do not deem it necessary to do that.
