Good morning OCN!!!
![]() Now when the weather is getting nicer and warmer here in Finland I thought it would be perfect to redo the poor paintjob I did lasts year. My first paintjob was a mess and I've wanted to do it again for a long time. So here it goes! Before ![]() I totally screwed it up. Too cold weather. Too thick coats. No sanding. Left it dry for only a day... The list goes on. ![]() You can see the paint has scratched off in some areas. ![]() ![]() Heres my comp atm. ![]() Day 1 Here's the stuff I bought. ![]() ![]() I have seen other matte black p182's and they look amazing. Therefore choosing the color for this project was easy. Ok lets start sanding! (240grit) ![]() ![]() This case was a PITA to sand down and the previous ''extremely'' thick black coat added some more time to the whole process. Hours later I was happy to get all the surfaces flat and ready for primer. Everything sanded and cleaned. Lets move on to primer. ![]() ![]() I decided to paint the interior in bits to make sure no dripping or any other issues would occur. So I used maskingtape and some paper to isolate the areas I would paint later. I used the same method for my HDD and OD racks. ![]() ![]() Two coats of primer. Letting it dry... Oh and this is my painting zone. LOL! ![]() I know you like that pink sheet. ![]() ![]() I gave the parts 6 coats of primer till I was happy with the result. (Little sanding in between) Day 2 ![]() Noooo... I knew it would come to this. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() No painting in this weather. ![]() Day 3 It was a busy day so I couldn't get much done. ![]() ![]() Previously primered sidepanel got 4 coats of matte black on it. ![]() Small parts allmost done. Looking good I think. ![]() A few more coats and their done. Thats all I had time to do. Day 4 The side project day. I hope you will enjoy this. ![]() Time to paint some noctua fans. ![]() I had to use some masking tape to isolate the fins because its impossible for average Joe to take it apart. I didn't use any primer.![]() The tape in the middle is there because of the magnet hole. ![]() Finished Noctua-NF-P12. I'm really happy how it turned out. ![]() ![]() ![]() Four extremely thin coats btw.

Day 4 Continues...
Side project is finished. ![]() ![]() They look way better now IMO. ![]() I'm so glad I did this. Day 5 The current state. It has been a week now since I started this project and I'm almost done. ![]() Getting there. A few more coats. ![]() ![]() ![]() Every single corner is covered and no orange effects. Phew! ![]() ![]() Now I'm just waiting for sunny weather to get this project done. It has been raining for 4 days now. ![]() Day 6 Thanks for watching. ![]()

Great finish, looks killer; painting cannot be rushed ever. I've always disliked the Noctua fans for the brown and vanilla coloring, but the black and brown looks pretty smooth. Great work.

Very nice! The Noctua fans look great. By the way, nice backyard. Very refreshing! Nothing but concrete here... and a typical backyard.
