My goal for this project was to breath new life into my old centurion 5 Case keeping it modest functional and clean.
__________________![]() Step 1: Before I decided to do the mod first I had to work on my cable management. ![]() ![]() Step 2: with the cables cleaned up I decided that I would indeed do a full mod of this case. Step 3: Prep for window ![]() ![]() ![]() Step 4: Paint. I used some cheap rattle can from home depot one can of black primer two cans of semi gloss black and a can of Matte Clear Coat. ![]() ![]() ![]() Step 5: Fan blow hole. Found the help of my neighbors drill press and adjustable hole saw to knock out the blow hole. In my original plan I had thought of doing two 120s on the acrylic the second residing right above the current but I do plan on using an after market cooler in the future and then I would be left with a large hole in my window. Step 6: Window Install. I used hot glue oddly enough to secure the window into place. I ran a bead of it around the entire piece of acrylic and it is holding quite well. For the fan I found some extra screws laying around in the garage I have them inserted from the inside out so I will be looking for some decorative nuts to top them off in the near future. (if you have any ideas let me know). Step 7: with all the hard stuff done I focused on my cable management and fan install. during construction I did lengthen the hole directly behind the powersupply to better accomidate my cables, I was able to clean up the cables considerably. I chose to pick up 3 rosewill 120s for the build they blow a lot of air and I don't mind the noise, the 4th fan I recycled my antec 80mm moving it to in front of my hard drive cage, with those installed my first mod was complete. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Conclusion: I am overall pleased with my first major case mod, paint isn't perfect but with the clear coat atleast it's somewhat protected, I am very happy with the window although it's size did pose problems in construction I like the overall look, and finally cable management has improved significantlyand with some different SATA cables I should be able to clean it up a bit more. I definatly learned a lot with this mod, but luckily not enough to ruin the experience or the final product. Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions. (what's a good name for this thing?)

Wow a huge improvement from what you started with. I'm a big fan of black cases as well (including internals). Great job
