Checking that drives fit

HDD's in drive bay so as tokeep form

And rivited into place

Here's my case with all the hardware in place and drive bays in their new place

Next up are the fans

Moving the drive bays has created a nice big open space for me to place my fans

The fans I'll be using

Joining them up

Bracket their screwing onto at the bottom

Screwd onto the bracket

Inplace on the case

The front of my case was custom made to fit on the front.

Here you can see it on my case

I also moved my switches to the top

After checking that it fits, I gave it a coat of paint

As I was hiding my DVD drive, I needed to cover it up with something, I used a piece of wood to do this

The piece of wood with hole cut in.

the wood on the front

and the DVD drive in its place

Ofcours with the cover, the DVD drive needed a new switch.

so I opend her up and solderd on some cabeling

testing, and it works briliantly

vidio quality is rather low, took these with my phone camera

After that was all done, I gave the whole case a black coating

first the drive bays

and the case

Then last night I decided the whole front needed something to break the monotoni so I took a drill to it

added a few holes, carefully working around the covering

And after two hours of frustration, and working through a 16mm gap

I had a nice break in the solid black colour

Not Bad. Especially for a First Mod Comp. How long did you take to do this?

My only criticism's (and feel free to flame me for it) are the staples along the side. Tehy are a bit of an eye-soar for me...but that can always be remedied later. Also could use a little trim around the window. Thats it for me...nothing else negative out of my mouth.

Great work none-the-less and conrats on finishing your first Case Mod Competition.

Congratulations on getting through the competition and on your first competition!

Now the criticism:
I was half way down thinking, ouch because of the big screws, but at the end the cloth covers it up nicely. Other then that I'm not complaining, looks pretty good to me.

Things to consider for next time:
Try using spray paint, it looks alot better and it doesn't leave brush marks behind. Try using glues / adhesive stuff to attach it, unless the part you are putting on is meant to be easily removable. Or if you decide to use screws, put some filler in the hole so it doesn't have a big huge hole.

Stick with modding my friend, don't EVER get discouraged, you could become a great modder if you put the time into it.

I really like what you did for the hd and cd drive bay. That's an interesting way to mount the optical drive. I like the mesh/wood front panel but yeah, it could use some prettying up. (Maybe some edge trim?) I like how it looks kinda like a speaker when you can see the 2 fan holes up top. That remote eject switch for the CD drive is sweet!

I don't understand what that bulge thing on the side window is. Is that something you formed?

Nice job for a 1st timer! I do agree about the staples, they shoulda been concealed a littler better, but that's ok. Nice job.
