Woot! Danger Den Stuff is almost here

Will be setting up watercooling tomorrow.

On a side note - I messed around with my system last night and I should probably ask this in the nvidia section but does anyone know how to disable the clock throttling on EVGA's GTX 260?

Its just annoying to me lol.

I've also noticed that I am no longer able to have the CPU overclock I had before. I was doing 3.75Ghz and approx 1.3625 Vcore (maybe a tiny bit higher )

I was able to boot at 3.5Ghz or so with close to 1.36 vcore. I don't know if my CPU is on it's last leg, if my board has somehow developed a FSB hole or if my PSU is having trouble powering the massive GTX 260 and maintaining a higher-than-stock voltage level for the CPU. I'll have to spend some more time tinkering tomorrow - I was able to boot at 3.75Ghz with the GTX 260 at least once before (when I originally got the card)

Any thoughts?

Changed my mind again and ordered a new Corsair PSU - I figure it's a good investment to help protect my precious PC hardware (especially seeing how the apevia may die sometime soon lol)

Here's the thread that helped me decide:

Default Another Box of Win

Danger Den Parts arrived yesterday

Installed the fans and shrouds on the rad. Installed the pump top. Cut the tubing and leak tested with distilled water for a few hours.

I have a problem though. The loop has picked up some sort of debris and is making a very faint "tick" sound whenever something goes through the impeller. I think it might be from the radiator

I might have to flush the radiator again..

maybe put some sort of temporary filter in the res or something, so if the debris comes back around you can catch it and get it out

Its done!!! lol

Finally got everything put together. Temps are slightly cooler at idle (2-4 degrees) and much cooler under load (6-10 degrees). I have a bad sensor in one of the cores so it's hard to get an accurate temperature reading. I'll be able to upgrade to higher CFM fans if I need more cooling power later on.

I think the wire management on top is pretty good and as far as the wiring below - you can't really see it so it's not a big deal

Got all the crap outta the loop - I flushed it with about half a gallon of distilled and then emptied that and added the Feser 1 Black/UV coolant.

The pump is isolated on rubber washers and the fans are damn near silent so the only thing making noise is the GPU fan.

And now, pics:

New Corsair 520HX (modular) This thing is sweet - individually sleeved modular cables ftw!

Northbridge heatsink taken off..

Annnd....installed This coolant is really pretty black unless it's held up to a natural light source then it has a purple tint. (The camera flash makes the coolant have a purple tint too) I kinda like it (And its very blue when near UV light as well)

And a vid:

I'm going to be using some UV LEDs rather than CCFLs just because LEDs will look cleaner.

Haha thanks The rad is actually a GTX 184 (2 x 92mm) with 4 fans and 2 shrouds.

And, go figure - the new DVD drive won't open lol. Guess i'm RMA'ing that.

Well this is pretty much done aside from a few little odds and ends.

1). I might try some higher-cfm fans just to see what I can get out of this little loop.

2). I'm going to want some UV LEDs so i'll probably order a bunch and wire them up myself.
