Against the Grain[UPDATE] PG.10
 *FINISHED PICS There has been a few homemade tech stations being made recently, and i just had to try my luck with building one. this is also my fist true, start to finish, work log, so bear with me. *My inspiration comes from wuttz's woodtek. It is what pushed me over the edge, and got me starting to want to actually do one. Computer Components:

I love the look of the MDF, its super clean. buuuuut, i dont want to copy, so i chose 1/2'' birch, which will then be stained with red oak 15. any way on the the preliminary build pics... ..and a pic of my birch sub box in my trunk for fun

here are some of the goodies i got for this build.. not sure how they will all go in place but i will make them work. hdd tray, rails, ect..
dang, ok some pics aren't working..hm..

hey bro!! thanks for the free plug! lolz! the car speakers look UBER SWEET!!! are you going to stain that too? or wrap it with some fiber or even grey leather! good luck on the build! give the lady your credit card and she wont bother you for a month! =P

thx for the reply... i actually plain on finding a nice gel grey-ish stain for the sub box, that somewhat matches my grey leather interior, but yeah, i have been just taking my time on building this as i want it to be perfect. hopefully tomorrow ill get to the point at least, where i can make some cuts. im REALLY excited to see this stained, i cant wait.
my only worry is that, from my experience, birch likes to splinter if its cut too fast, so i have to be sure to take it super slow, and use a clean new blade on my jig.

the cuts in your subwoofer box seems nice and clean, so it looks like you already know how to do it well. yeah, take your time. always worth it when you sit back, relax and admire the work of art you have created.

yeah the cuts were pretty much perfect on it, but the one thing i didnt take the time to do on the sub box, was to pre-drill the screw holes, and if you look closely, you can see where the wood somewhat buldges out(i know, stupid mistake...) but i wont let that happen in this case. depending on how this turns out, im going to build a matching stand, and a desk for myself.

Memphis, nice. What model are those subs? And what's the ft^3 of the box and the tuning? (car audio nut here) Looks like a nice beefy port
