the acrylic arrived yesterday and I picked it up from the xmil this morning. I intended to do a little work this evening but that didnt pan out. I am hoping to do some stuff tomr eve, then paint friday, maybe have it up and running by sunday but we'll see.

Tech Bench - Day 03 - side panel screw holes

thats the 24x24" sheet of transparent grey cast acrylic from mcmaster. The panel isnt scratched, there was some tape holding down some flat steel bar (for Butcher's Hook project) that tore some of the paper backer

more on this tomr

laid out the left side panel and marked off for the screw drill outs

doing both sides with 4 across the bottom, and three in the mid section

did the same to the right panel

decided to go brave and just placed a fan over the fan hole , and passed the drill bit thru the fan frame to score the drill points. then I removed the fan and drilled out the holes 7/64

I did the same on both panels, then over-bored the 8 fan screw holes to 9/64 to let some 6-32 black oxides pass thru when the time comes

tomr will be a mix of work on this and work on the Butcher's Hook project too

Since you did not post a link to this anywhere, I had to go searching... if you did not mention it in Butcher's Hook, I never would even know it was there...

Anyway... why do you have painter's tape on your tapping-T? I am curious; I have recently acquired one myself.

On top of being messy, it's extremely tough on tools. Went through a brand new carbide tool machining a mold out of MDF for a carbon car shell. Granted, we used about 800$ worth of MDF to build the mold (the final shell is roughly 10'x3'x3'), but it's still gives an idea of how abrasive it is. And it makes one crazy mess.
