[Project] Portable Test Bench!
Time for a new project! My old test bench broke from being moved so much, and I had originally designed it for my watercooling system, but now I am on air... So I decided a couple weeks ago what the hay I will build a new case. Well I finally grabbed the wood for the project today, and finished up the plans for the most part. Log Posts ~The Design ~Marking it out and cutting ~Soup Corners and rounding ~99% cut ~Full Mockup Test ~Check this out Case Specs 18.37" Width 13.53" Depth 15.23" Height

(Front Right)
![]() (Front Left) ![]() (Rear Right) ![]() (Rear Left) ![]() (Top will be hinged for easy access to the parts in the bottom) (Back top Open) ![]() (Front top Open) ![]() (All the individual parts, its a pretty simple case. All I need to do is put my computerized measurements on the wood, then put it together like a simple puzzle) 12 Pieces ![]() (The woods awaitin!) ![]() I don't know what color (if any) it will be, also I may add some triangle braces inside the bottom section if it doesn't feel sturdy enough after its together. I am open to any suggestions, I may have overlooked something, or if you can think of an improvement post it! I should start cutting out the pieces tomorrow (June 12th).

is that wood or mdf?
how thick is it? looks kinda thin to be edge screwed, how are you planning on joining the sides to the flat sections?

I'm also using 1/2" MDF in my tech bench ![]() (I also use regular wood screws so counter-sinking was necessary for a flush look)

I marked out most of the cuts..
![]() Then I cut around them with my circular saw (to make them small enough for my scroll saw), and did the actual cuts with my scroll saw (much cleaner cuts and easy to control). ![]() I just need to cut the other side piece, then do the rounded tops on the side pieces.

I marked out the corner cuts with a can of soup.
![]() ![]() Then I cut them on the scroll saw ![]() ![]() Next I rounded the outside edges of the pieces with my router (which is probably the most dangerous tool in my garage). ![]() ![]() Now back to the garage
