It wasn't the cooler - it was the stupid mobo with the 5 feet high heatsink LOL

It's dumb because you need them "un"screwed first then just push and snap, seems dumb that they made it so you only turn in the arrows direction to take the heatsink off >_>.

Anyway, good fun reading on the update.
Yeah - the push pins are just half minded contraptions.

Ok dokie - new problem. Well kinda.

I need a way to hide the wires from the side panel from being seen on that side. Like, if you're looking at the OCN logo - you can see the mess of wires dropping down from it.

I was thinking I could just use some plasti-dip and cover the bottom portion (under the logo). Think it would work?
Can you get Plasti-dip from say Home Depot or is it online order only?

If you think you have it rough, take a gander at my superfold log. Always something going wrong there. TBH I will be surprised if the thing works after I get it back together.

I really like the OCN flame idea! I'm really jealous that you have that whole OCN logo cut out of plastic.

But, after reading, I have to agree with CR. It does look a little like a xmas tree. Now, I'm sure you have something planned later for it, but just as an idea, maybe have some flickering, sort of like what a flame does. I know flickering can be achieved with CCFLs by putting a sound reactive inverter next to a fan with sensitivity turned up. Creates random flickering/dimming CCFLs. Maybe you can figure it out with your controller with the LEDs.

Also, just throwing out ideas. To try and hide your cables, you could try wrapping them in blue UV sleeving. It'll sort of blend in. Or you could wrap it in blue UV and then outline the flame with the cabling. Make the edges stand out. It's a real mystery to me too.

Also, Welder glue is really good clear glue. Holds in about 5-10 minutes and is real solid after 24 hours. It beats the pants off hot glue. It's what I use to hold together my CCube in my Portal mod. You wouldn't believe how many times that cube has fallen down (and scared people ) without anything breaking. They sell that at Home Depot...i think.

Again, just giving you ideas. Bored at work for the next 2.5 hours so....ya

EDIT: Ok, i know, for sure, that Lowes sells the glue (that's where I bought it), but I could have sworn I saw it at Home Depot too. Here's a link to the stuff:

I can't tell how thick that plastic is, but you can try to drill into the side and put a 3mm led in there. That will light it up and not make it look like a flashing xmas tree lol.
