Thanks! Even though I notice all the little picky details and flaws in my work, I think it's looking quite nice for my first "actual" case mod!

Default It's Alive!!!!!!

Sorry for the lack of updates.... I bought myself a new mountain bike (real mountains ) and have been riding pretty much non-stop

But, I felt lazy tonite and didn't want to go outside, so I got back to my HTPC.

Here's a review of the night's work:

I mounted the PSU with zipties and some screws through the grill on the mobo-tray side. Ghetto, but it works.

It's cramped, and I still have to put the HDD in, but it is going to work. There's not much room for cable management either.

A quick shot of the backplate -- I didn't want to try cutting a fancy shape for the PSU, so I grabbed a holesaw bit and made two quick cuts -- besides, no one looks at that side! lol

Ready? DIM THE LIGHTS! HIT THE POWER!

It's ALIVEEEEEE!! ALIVE!!!!!!!! yarrr.

I had a blue neon light from when I *tried* to make my car look cool in high school. I hacked off the cigarette lighter plug and crimped on a molex connector .

Lookin' Okay:

I wasn't happy with the blue coming from only one side, so I remounted the neon light just above the grill to uniformly emit awesomeness.

Fantastic!
Next step is to get some RAM of my own... which shouldn't be too hard. I think I found a lead on some DDR-400. Next up will be a hard drive mount where ever I can squeeze it into.

Thanks for looking!!!!!!!

looks great man. i love cheap builds like this. anyone can buy top-of-the-line parts and have a nice computer, but it takes skill to use crappy parts and make a nice computer!

I have to say, that looks pretty awesome. It's very sleek and sexy but I have one question, Where is the power button? I know It's somewhere, but I can't see it in any of the pics. This case could probably be mass manufactured if you worked out the kinks. Nice job +rep.

The plan is to put a power button on the front panel where that rectangular hole is (bottom left corner). For now, I just use a jumper on the header pins ;D

My oc'd 3500+ has difficulties playing 720p. I am running a 6800gt with it as well but then again I am running windows 7 as well. I think your gonna need a gfx card with decoding capabilities.
