Default *COMPLETED!* Touge180SX's Custom DD Water Box Plus Build!!

August 6th, 2009

Well everyone, it took awhile but the case has finally arrived. Actually, I have had it for about a week or so but have been really busy at home so no time to work on it. Thanks go out to John for suggesting the custom DD route! I will be posting pictures as I build it and I will post when I add more stuff!

All gear is pretty much the same as the old build with the exception of what is listed below, oh, and of course the case! Here are links to the old build:
Prior Build Log

Shipment arrived in the mail with some toys!
- Watercool Heatkiller 3.0 LT
- Primochill PrimoFlex Pro LRT Black Tubing 1/2" ID
- Swiftech MCP655 Pump
- Bitspower X-Station Power Extension II - Red
- Danger Den Fillport x2
- Polypropylene "T" Fittings x2
- Koolance Reusable Hose Clamps x4
- Cooler Master High Performance 120mm R4 Series Red LED Case Fans x4
- Aerocool Silver Lightning Silent White 80mm LED Fan
- Steel Mesh 120mm Fan Filter (Medium Hole) - Black x 4
- Steel Mesh 80mm Fan Filter - Black x2
- SATA II Date Cables - Black x3
- KwikCut Advance SL100SS Stainless Steel Tube Cutter - Orange

The beautiful Heatkiller 3.0 LT CPU Waterblock!

And the best part.... The custom Danger Den Water Box Plus made to house two completely seperate watercooling loops!!

Here are the two sides. It's hard to see, but I added some vinyl sticker material to the lower half of the case to help clean up the bottom area of the case. I think it will look really cool to have the red lights kinda glow down there. This material makes it looked like sand blasted glass/acrylic and will just show the shadows of the goodies inside!

The motherboard tray

That's all for now... more to come!

August 7th, 2009

Put the case together to check fitment and see how this bad boy looked! It's big but awesome!!
* 1 note of mention: A few of the screw holes didn't line up right (probably because it's custom and some miscalculations). I haven't contacted Danger Den yet to see what they can do. I'll post up some pics of the 2 problems soon.

This is the opaque vinyl I was talking about before. I think it turned out great!

More next week as I'll be gone this weekend!

August 12th, 2009

Sorry about the delay in updates, haven't had much time as work and family has kept me quite busy. Wife and son are at the parents-in-law's house this week so I should be finished either tomorrow or the next day! Also, sorry about the picture quality. Wife took the Canon Powershot with her this week and I'm stuck with the old Pentax WP.

This is my first time working with acrylic. These will be used to house two Danger Den Fillports. I know they could be better and I will redo them someday, but not bad for my first try I think!

CPU Loop Rad being mounted.

I love the way these modders mesh fan grills look!

PSU, Hard Drives, and both Rads all mounted up.

Some cable sleeving goodness! I wanted to do both sets of PCI-E cables also but the modular ones for my Corsair HX1000 have ferrite magnets on them to reduce interference and it was recommended by Corsair not to remove them, so they will stay unsleeved for the time being.

Bloodrage with new HEATKILLER® 3.0 LT mounted up!

That's all for now, more tonight after work hopefully!

August 13th, 2009

Here is some more! I'm pretty much done, just need to adjust some lighting and bleed a little more. No leaks and everything looks good!

Motherboard and GPU's installed!

8-pin ATX Connector sleeved and ran

Cables all ran but still needing a little cleaning up. There was a butt ton of wires but I think it is turning out nice! Pumps mounted and connected to radiators. I really like how they are angled a little bit. Here you can also see the acrylic shelves I made with fillports all mounted.

Close up of the pumps and the dirty underside of the case! Cable management still be worked on but everything will be hard to see anyways due to the frosting on the bottom half of the case.

Views from the top!

Shot with all the tubing ran. I really am happy with the way all the tubing was ran.

Final build pic. Taken while bleeding the system which was actually relatively easy!

Well, that's all for the build portion everyone! Final pics will be posted when I get my hands on the better camera. Thanks for watching so far! OC and Benchies coming to a thread near you soon!

Well, as everyone knows, the Bloodrage died so while waiting for the RMA to come back, I purchased an EVGA Classified. Here comes the completion of the build!

And the beautiful MDPC-X Sleeving Kit!

Next post, final build pictures!
