Well I decided to go with the name Dark Knight as that fits the profile more.

After doing some work on this I think its turning more into a case then a tech station. Given it will feature a lot of things to make switching parts easier. More updates soon just have to get some time and more money.

Thanks to everyone who voted on the poll still taking votes. Also thanks for all suggestions for the projects name.

Or if you think it is not nessasary.

Never though about this guess I could run a wire through from standoff to PSU. Seen a bunch of other wooden cases without any grounding stuff.

Not needed the PSU is earthed and NO! 110/240v supply in case other than the PSU itself, the rest is low voltage 3/5/12volt within the case!

Considering all the components are electrically connected to the PSU, you don't need to earth it.

Thats what I was thinking never had a issue with this on any other open air rigs.

Building the HDD cage 100% WOOD!

This was my original idea:

This is my uncles idea, he always makes things better with less work:

Like he says give me a design and I can build it, I can build anything out of wood!

First we wanted to make a jig to see if this design would actually work. I brought my rocketfish HDD cage with me to his house to use for measurements and to show my idea further. The following pics are the start to finish of building the all wood hard drive cage for project Dark Knight.

After some trial and error it all worked out now I just need to buy more thumbscrews to use for sliders. I am glad I changed the design so much simpler and does same purpose. Total time from start to completion maybe 2 hours tops. Including the few hiccups along the way actual cutting time was maybe 20-30 mins.

Very Nice, Just an FYI the ground on a mobo are there for a few reasons. 1 the more grounds the less load on a circuit and 2 it make practical sense to use mounting points for grounds. But you do not need them, they are not imperative. Also these kids that have one or 2 screws holding their mobo in and ground points that can connet/disconnect with expansion/contraction are looking for trouble and I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same ones that are rma'ing boards continually.

But none of this is a concern to you as all your mount points are insulated by your building material. The only effect will be the load on your ground wires to you PS will be higher.

Great Job, keep up the good work. :
