I had thought about this too. It's easier to use the same fan in the front and change out the LED's than to grab some resistors and run my own wires from the 12V source. It wouldn't be that hard but I'm a lazy Electrical Engineer. :P

I did mine too, but I wired all the LEDs backwards. I wasn't sure which wire was + and which -, so I guessed. Now I have to go back and flip them all around except I'll have to add wire to them now too so they'll reach.

I found that guys that's selling all those LEDs for cheap. I'll order some up from him too if it turns out they're a match to our CM fans. I want to add a few here and there on mine as well; power, hdd, etc...

The easiest way to figure out which it + and which is - is the + is always the longer wire on the LED. To figure out which wire is the + just look at the original wires connecting the old LEDs. The wire leading to the smaller triangle metal inside the LED is the +.

While the fan is on, you could just hold the led to the wires in the fan and when it lights up, just mark the positive wire. Saw that in a guide once.

I actually did that when I changed out the LEDs first to make sure they would light up. :P I wish my other LEDs would show up! I'm ready to fix the damn fan and move on to other ideas.

I actually thought the wider part inside the LED was +. That was my mistake. I didn't bother double checking it. I always went off of the lead lengths, but since they were already hooked up, I couldn't tell. Thanks for the diagram! That is really helpful.

Default Part 4 - Green LEDs finally

Okay they finally arrived!

Here's the LED's attached:

Here they are installed. There was actually a sorta blue green one that I had to change out:

Finally, looks good from the front!

And the finale:

Next to come. Part 5 - Front Dust Filter and GPU Loop prep

Damn! Way better! Those others just weren't right at all. It's looking killer now! Are you thinking about doing the PWR & HD LEDs too?
