Default RawZ’ Antec 300 Mod | Project Sleek

RawZ’ Antec 300 Mod | Project Sleek

Hi guys,

Yet another mod of the classic 300, but I propose to do it over the next month. My first mod too.

No theme in particular, just something sleek and stylish.

Work list –

Cable Management:

• Hole cut top left of case for 4/8 Pin PSU cable
• 24 Pin hole cut towards right side of m/b
• Big whole cut next to the PSU for cables to root behind the m/b tray
• Hole for the SATA cables near SATA port, but under the m/b
• Hole cut @ the top near the drive for the Front Panel Connectors and Optical Drive SATA/Power cables
• Another hole cut hidden under the m/b near the bottom for the Audio Connector, USB, & Front Panel Connectors
• Mount HDD the other way around with SATA/Power cables facing the front bottom 120mm fan. Root cables through the hole next to it to hide all HDD cables
• Cut large hole for CPU backplate
- Dremel to be used to cut. The i’ll apply some black Edge Trim to hide rough cuts & protect rooted cables – Chilled PC

Braiding:

• Braid & heatshrink the SATA cables for the O/D & HDD
• Same process for all 120/140mm fans
• Braid the Front Panel Connectors together
- 10mm black cable braid & 20mm black heatshrink to be used – WCUK (Braid+ Heatshrink)

Fans:

• 2x CPU Cooler fans for TRUE Black - SANYO DENKI 120mm x 38mm 9G1212H1011 (Chilled PC)
• 1x PSU fan - 120mm Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1450RPM (SCAN)
• 4x 120mm Case fans (2 front, 1 rear, 1 side panel) – 120mm Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1450RPM (SCAN)
• 1x 140mm Case fan (top) - 140mm Xigmatek XLF-F1453 1000RPM (SCAN)

Lapping:

• Lap AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE
• Lap TRUE Black

- Premium lapping kit – WCUK. Will use Coollaboratory Liquid Pro TIM (Novatech) after the lap for added cooling performance & apply a pressure mod by use of a 2mm copper washer

Accessories and Extra’s:

• 20 pack of Red Annodised thumb screws for HDD, O/D, PSU, case side panel’s, & PCI Slot covers.
• Black vented PCI Slots – Chiled PC
• 120mm fan filter for side panel fan – Chilled PC
• 4x 120mm Chrome wire fan grills for side panel fan, rear fan, & CPU cooler fans. Also apply a 140mm grill to top 140mm fan - Chilled PC

Colour:
• Internals will be power coated Black – Service supplied via Chilled PC here

Side Panel Window:

• Keep 120mm fan mount in place, but cut a side window and fill with clear Perspex that will cover not show the HDD & O/D bays. Cut above 120mm fan too. Pattern/shape to be decided – service provided via Chilled PC here

Fan Blow Holes:

• Cut and remove top stock 140mm, rear & side panel 120mm fan holes/grills. Replace with 120/140mm blow hole. Also cut a 120mm blow hole @ bottom of case for PSU to intake cold air. Attach 3 Chrome wire fan grills to all, plus filter for PSU blow hole. Blow hole service provided via Chilled PC here

RED = Completed

I wanna see how that window comes out if you're keeping the 120mm fan slot on the side but still not showing the drive bays.

First start on cable braiding.

Ended up getting 8mm & 10mm cable braid and heatshrink as the 20mm heatshrink was too big for the SATA cables.

Braided both CPU fans; SANYO DENKI 9G1212H1011. 3 SATA Cables, 2 voltage fan restrictors for the Sanyo's. The top 140mm Xigmatek fan. As have the Front Panel Connectors also have been braided.
