what do you mean each? before i got the multifilament.. i've used a bunch of techflex some were better than others but i by far love the nylon multifilament the most. it's more difficult to work with than with regular techflex. if you want something that responds more like the regular techflex, you might want to look into what milliondollar pc or murdermod uses.

i think ronin would agree with me that it's beautiful stuff and feels great too. as he used the same stuff in his Soldam uATX i7 build.

I had assumed you worked with each. The multifilament looks great and for 2 dollars more than the clean cut flex I can get 225 feet. I'll probably go with that. 1 more question....how see-through is it? It doesn't look holey at all in the pics but you can see it up close so maybe it's different. Thanks, +rep.

I lied....2 more questions-
What size do you use for SATA data sleeving? I may get some orange(or another accent color) sleeving for those.
What size heatshrink do I use for the SATA data sleeving and for the 1/8" sleeving?

Thanks. I'll rep you again once I get my answers. great project as well!

there is no holes... you can't see through it at all.

for heatshrink, for 1/8" you want 1/8"... i have 1/4" and that doesn't fit over SATA... i'd try 5/16" or 3/8" for SATA.. more likely 3/8". if you were using techflex.. you could get away with using 1/4" as for heatshrink for SATA.. i'd say.... 5/16".

and multifilament only comes in black.

Seasonic eh? I'll have to give those guys a consideration next time I uni.

Also, a note about the nylon multifilament: I'll never go back to plastic (PET) sleeving. It's a lot harder to work with, but the look and feel is miles removed from your standard cable sleeving.

yea, so far it's been great working with the seasonic not as much of a hassle as i had with the corsair. I'll most likely give seasonic another go when i do Serenity then i'd be really sure about cable hole in the PSU.

i'm with you on never going back to PET sleeving! the multifilament is just much much more durable than PET. nylon multifilament ftw!

Okay. I was going to get PET for my orange accents but since you two feel so strongly about multifilament I won't bother with PET.

Thanks. +rep

1 more question...I'll ask more if/when I get more.

1. I know you don't live in Hawaii but how are the shipping rates on wirecare?

Update 4:

i finished sleeving the PSU.

but since it'd only be one picture, i decide to do quick mini how to do for those that want to sleeve their PSUs.. it'll be a bit different than what i would normally say for PET b/c i'm using nylon multifilament.

so i start by sticking in the molex pin dislocator into desired pin hole then pull out said wire.

next, i cut off the pin or you could heatshrink wrap the hole thing. up to you.

then i cut off the desired length of sleeving. i use around 23 inches of sleeving per wire. alot huh? after the cut, singe the ends with a lighter.

a quick note about cutting nylon multifilament sleeving. it can be difficult with regular scissors. so i'd recommend a hot knife or using heavy duty shears like the one in the picture below.

after running the wire through the sleeving. i strip the wire.

and recrimp on a new pin.

cut around 1inch worth of heatshrink

and place over a needle nose plier. and stretch out. i do this twice per wire. first time, i only stretch half of it. the second time, i stretch the whole heatshrink.

i do this b/c it helps keep the pin section look more even and uniform like so. then place it back into it's pin hole.

after 3-4 hours worth of sleeving time and huge amounts of sleeving, you finish the 4pin, 8pin, and 24pin connectors. looks much better than it did before!

and here is what i was talking about.. the hole where the cable comes out is so much bigger than the corsair ones that i was previously working with that even after all the sleeving. it fits in perfectly.
