Case Rebirth: Perfection: Antec Mini P180 - Overclock.net

Hey gang. Back with the last build you will see from me for quite a while. This isn't so much a case mod as it is a case transplant. I am moving my MircoATX system out of the colossal Rocketfish and moving it into an Antec Mini P180. The case arrived 2 days ago and is currently sitting in my garage awaiting me to get to it and get it built. I haven't taken any photos of it yet but I do intend on taking a ton tomorrow. This is basically an update to my last project which failed horribly, which was an update to the project before that (Superfold) which failed even worse.

This one, on the other hand, I have a superbly good feeling about. The case arrived in perfect condition and I can only think of one modification that should be done to it. I am thinking of cutting out a blowhole on the bottom of the case for the power supply to draw in fresh air. Other than that, the case will remain untouched, as I feel it is perfect as-is (except for the lack of fresh air intake for PSU)

That was quick! All done. No "modding" involved per se, but I did have to use every trick I knew to get it just right. As I was about halfway through, I got a package of 2x 24" black SATA cables I had ordered from Xoxide. Hence, you will see a change from red to black.

I still am debating whether I am going to keep my trusty IDE DVD burner or make the jump to SATA. having a single IDE cable doesn't necessarily bug me too bad. I figure I will replace it when it dies. Below are the pics of the progression. It flew together rapidly thanks to the brilliant design of the case. There is almost 3/4" or space between the motherboard tray and the back panel of the case for wire management

One thing I did not care for was the way in which you are required to mount the HDDs. Never did figure that out completely but it is serviceable.

Thanks guys. It was really a pleasure to work with this case. I only wish I had thoroughly planned things out before starting to throw stuff in. A wire here and a wire there makes a big bunch of messy wires everywhere behind the tray. I tried to make that look as good as possible - so there you have it!
