Default [Project] Soulja Boy Tell 'Em (working title) - Power Mac G5 case

I went to a yard sale yesterday and saw this Power Mac G5 case for $1. It was pretty gutted, but I had been imagining putting a standard ATX or uATX mobo in a G5/Mac Pro case for a few months, so I had to jump at this opportunity. It's in pretty good condition, besides missing the side window, as it just has a few scratches. I'm pretty sure the hard drive mounts and optical drive mount are incomplete, so I'll have to hillbilly something to get that working.
Checklist:
  1. Get body intact - there's a part where the handle assembly has come apart from the main body, so I'll need to fix that.
  2. Replace rear panel - I need a new rear panel for the case, as the one that it has isn't suited for an ATX motherboard's I/O panel or much else, for that matter. I figure I can cannibalize an old case for this.
  3. Get a motherboard mounting system in order - I plan to either replace and relocate the standoffs in order to accommodate a uATX motherboard or mount a cannibalized motherboard tray in the case.
  4. Mount a standard ATX PSU - I need to mod the case to allow using a normal ATX PSU, which hopefully won't be too much of a pain in the ass.
  5. Fabricate a side panel - I'm thinking of a side panel made mostly of Plexiglas that can still engage the stock side panel hooks.
  6. Rewire front panel - this should almost be simple, compared to the rest of the project. Apple's proprietary connector will go, to be replaced by a standard ATX front panel setup.
I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of any more in my hurried state.

Parts are just going to be what I have lying around, for now.
ASUS M2NBP-VM
Athlon X2 4000+
2GB DDR2
530W Raidmax PSU (will replace asap)
Radeon 3850 (might not use, mobo has integrated video)

I'll need a DVD drive, so I have to look for one to buy.

Oh, and I've attached a preview picture from earlier. I took it in a hurry on my way to work. More to come after my camera's done charging. The name is just a joke that one of my friends came up with - it's sure to change.

I like these kind of mods. Good luck! Internal lighting looks good with these. White LEDs behind the aluminium grills look reallly nice.

Probably not. I'm just going to toss some old Athon X2 stuff in there for now - thinking about using it as a server.

Camera charged. Time for some porn.

First two images show the part that is damaged. Still not sure how to fix.

The inside, full of (mostly) ****ty proprietary Apple stuff.

Surprisingly good condition for something that's 3-5 years old and cost me a dollar.

You can see the damage to the bottom handle pretty well in this picture.

Edit:

If anyone comes up with an awesome name for this build, I'll gift them a $10 game on Steam.

Getting an AMD logo etched into the plexiglas I plan to use as a side panel would be pretty damn funny. I'm considering getting some cold cathodes for the inside of this thing - the mesh begs for them.
